Angel's eyes stirred wide open, but it took her a few seconds for her body to catch up with her brain.
It finally did, and she made to rise up, when she felt him.
Her head swiftly whipped beside her to see Ares staring at her.
First her brow shot together, and then her eyes squinted. To end her amazement, her mouth opened, and closed.
Realization hit her hard, and she pushed her hand up to cover her mouth.
"Good morning, Angel," he said, and her heart almost ripped out.
"Morning breath," she spoke into her hand, and it came out muffled.
Regardless, Ares understood her clearly, and it made him chuckle.
"What are you? Ten?" He rolled his eyes, and moved her to the other side of the bed, so he could lay down beside her.
Angel's head was in riots, as she thought of the best way to navigate the situation.
Nothing seemed to click. All she had was a fast beating heart, and a fear that her breath stink.
