Chapter 1: Meeting Bulma

"Welcome to West City TV. Recently, Capsule Corporation has launched its latest capsule product, which includes houses, weapons, airplanes, cars, and more. We can proudly announce that everything in the universe can now fit into these tiny capsules. Head to the mall and grab yours today!"

"And now, Capsule Corporation is offering a trade-in promotion..."

The beautiful host on TV continued to promote West City's Capsule Corporation, but John Doe was no longer paying attention to the content of the broadcast.

John couldn't believe he had crossed over into the Dragon Ball universe. Was this the world where ordinary people lived?

It was a world filled with powerful beings, where even gods were inferior to dogs. The most crucial issue was that John couldn't quite recall the plot of Dragon Ball in detail. He had only watched Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z during his childhood and had no knowledge of the later series, Dragon Ball Super, knowing only a rough outline of the story.

John pondered his future in this new world. How could he survive the impending threats of King Piccolo, Frieza, Cell, and the like?

(Shouldn't you introduce yourself? Tell the readers about your past life and how you ended up in the Dragon Ball world.)

(Is an introduction necessary? No, because no reader would care about how I got here.)

In the past few days, John had confirmed that he didn't have any of the typical benefits of a transmigrator, such as a system or cheat codes.

John smacked himself on the forehead. How could he be so stupid? The ultimate cheat code in the Dragon Ball world was right in front of him—the Dragon Balls! With them, what other cheat codes would he need?

Others might have conditions for using their cheat codes, but the Dragon Balls were different. All he needed to do was gather all seven, make a wish, and it would be granted, no questions asked.

The second-best cheat code in the Dragon Ball world was being a Saiyan. If Son Goku was the author's favorite, then the Saiyans were like the author's favorite's siblings. They were like a little cow flying high in the sky.

To survive in this world, John knew he had to transform his body into that of a Saiyan. Only then would he have a chance against the universe's mightiest warriors.

Without further ado, John set out to find the Dragon Balls, and for that, he needed a Dragon Radar.

Only Bulma had the ability to create a Dragon Radar, so his first step was to meet Bulma and convince her to join him on his quest.

Bulma was well-known in West City, as her father, Briefs, was the chairman of Capsule Corporation, the world's richest man.

As the daughter of the chairman, it was easy for John to gather information about Bulma.

Bulma was currently 16 years old and in her first year of high school in West City. John vaguely remembered that Bulma was also 16 years old when she first appeared in the story, and she set out to collect the Dragon Balls during her summer vacation.

It had already been three months into the school year, and summer vacation was still over a month away. John needed to tell Bulma about the Dragon Balls before she discovered them on her own.

That evening, as school let out, John positioned himself along Bulma's route home.

Soon, Bulma approached on her magnetic levitation motorcycle. John took aim and fired a coin, hitting the motorcycle's magnetic levitation device.

The motorcycle lost power and came to an abrupt stop, throwing Bulma off the vehicle.

"Ah!" Bulma couldn't believe her bad luck. How could she have fallen off her bike?

As she braced for impact, expecting to hit the ground face-first, she suddenly felt herself enveloped in a warm embrace, and she felt no pain.

A gentle, magnetic male voice reached her ears, "Are you okay?" The voice was filled with concern.

Bulma opened her eyes and saw a face that didn't quite live up to her expectations. The voice had been so pleasant, but the face was rather ordinary.

John Doe, in his new body after crossing over, wasn't ugly, just a bit plump, which made him look ordinary.

"I'm fine, thank you. You saved me," Bulma said politely, a bit disappointed by his appearance.

She walked over to her motorcycle to inspect the damage. How could it have lost power so suddenly?

John didn't mind her reaction; he knew that with his current appearance, winning Bulma's favor quickly would be difficult. The fact that she wasn't repulsed by him and had even thanked him was already a good sign.

He walked over to Bulma and asked, "Is the motorcycle okay? Can you ride it?"

Bulma had already found a coin wedged in the foot pedal, which had cut off the magnetic field generator. "It's broken. The magnetic field generator has been damaged by this coin. I'll need to take it home and fix it." She pressed a button on the motorcycle.

"Bang!" The damaged motorcycle transformed into a small capsule and landed in Bulma's hand, which she then placed in her school bag.

John offered, "Do you have another vehicle?"

Bulma shook her head. "I didn't expect the motorcycle to break down, so I didn't bring another vehicle. It looks like I'll have to walk home, but fortunately, it's not too far."

"I can give you a ride. There's a gang of robbers in West City lately, so it's not safe," John said, referring to a recent bank robbery in West City.

Bulma nodded, agreeing to John's offer, and they began walking towards her home, which was also the headquarters of Capsule Corporation.

Bulma was an outgoing girl who got along with everyone. Although John wasn't her type, that didn't mean she disliked him. "What's your name?" she asked. "I'm Bulma."

"I'm John Doe," he replied.

"John Doe, your name matches your face. It's quite ordinary," Bulma said bluntly, not holding back.

John pretended to clutch his heart, exaggerating his reaction. "That really hurts my feelings! I saved your life, after all!"
