Chapter 2: The Legend of the Dragon Balls

Bulma realized that she might have gone too far with her words, so she apologized with a smile, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to offend you. I didn't realize you were so sensitive about your appearance."

John almost choked on his own blood. Bulma's words were merciless.

Seeing that John was genuinely upset, Bulma quickly added, "I was just joking. I didn't mean it. I apologize, sincerely."

"It's okay, I accept your apology," John replied. What else could he do? Especially since he had other motives.

Their playful banter quickly brought them closer, and they began chatting like friends.

Guided by John, their conversation turned to the topic of future dreams.

Bulma's face lit up as she said, "My dream is to marry the most handsome man in the world, someone like Matsumura Yuta."

Matsumura Yuta was a handsome male celebrity in the Dragon Ball world, adored by countless girls and women.

Bulma's eyes turned into pink hearts as she imagined marrying Matsumura Yuta. She cupped her face in her hands, her entire face flushing pink.

John was speechless. He couldn't believe that just imagining a scenario could make someone daydream to this extent.

He patted Bulma's shoulder, trying to snap her out of her fantasy, but to no avail. She only returned to reality after playing out the entire scenario in her mind.

Daydreaming was a common occurrence for Bulma, and she didn't mind John's reaction. She asked, "John, what about you? What's your dream?"

John thought for a moment before answering, "I guess I want to become a powerful martial artist."

"A martial artist?" Bulma didn't quite understand why someone would have such a dream, but she believed that everyone's dreams were worth encouraging.

So, she said sincerely, "John, I believe in you. I'm sure you'll become a great martial artist one day."

However, John sighed, his voice filled with regret.

Bulma was taken aback and asked, "John, what's wrong?"

"Bulma, you should know that martial arts training requires talent. Some people are born with natural talent and become incredibly skilled with just a little training. But others, no matter how hard they train, only make minimal progress and end up as gym instructors," John explained.

"I'm one of those people. I have average talent. Don't be fooled by my current skills. My body has accumulated severe hidden injuries from training, and I've already reached my limit."

John's words were filled with sorrow, and his voice was so compelling that Bulma couldn't help but shed tears for his plight.

With tears in her eyes, Bulma said, "John, don't worry. I'll make a recovery device for you when I get home. I promise I'll help heal your body."

Seeing that the moment was right, John decided to bring up the Dragon Balls. "Even if my injuries are healed, what's the point? My body has already reached its limit. Healing will only lead to more injuries in the future."

"Sigh, if only I could gather the Dragon Balls. Then I could wish for a body with exceptional talent," John said, waving his arms to emphasize his point.

As John had hoped, Bulma was intrigued by the mention of the "Dragon Balls." "Dragon Balls? What are they? Can they give you a body with exceptional talent?"

"Dragon Balls are magical spheres, like glass, and there are seven of them. Each Dragon Ball has stars inside, ranging from one to seven."

"If you gather all seven Dragon Balls, you can summon the Dragon God and make a wish. The Dragon God can grant any wish."

"Our current king became the ruler of the entire world by collecting the Dragon Balls and making a wish to the Dragon God."

John passionately narrated the story of the Dragon Balls to Bulma, who was enthralled, her eyes sparkling with stars. She imagined herself collecting the Dragon Balls and asking the Dragon God for a handsome man.

But then she thought of John and his wish. The Dragon God could only grant one wish, so whose wish would be granted?

John, unaware of Bulma's thoughts, continued, "After a wish is granted, the Dragon Balls scatter across the world, turning into stones. After a year, they transform back into Dragon Balls, and the cycle of collecting and wishing begins anew."

Upon hearing this, Bulma made up her mind. She decided to help John fulfill his wish, and she could make her wish a year later.

With determination, Bulma lifted her chin and said earnestly, "John, I've made up my mind. This summer, let's go and find the Dragon Balls together."

Seeing Bulma's serious expression, John felt a twinge of guilt for manipulating a young girl. He silently recited "Amitabha" in his mind.

Then, with righteousness, he said, "Okay, we'll go and find the Dragon Balls this summer."

After their discussion, they continued walking towards Bulma's home.

Along the way, Bulma asked, "By the way, John, do you know where the Dragon Balls are?"

John shook his head. "I don't know. Do you?"

Bulma also shook her head. "I don't know either."

They fell silent...

After a few minutes, Bulma sighed and said, "If only we had one Dragon Ball. Then I could make a Dragon Radar and find the other Dragon Balls quickly."

"But we have nothing now. How can we find the Dragon Balls?"

Seeing Bulma's troubled expression, John comforted her, "Don't worry. It's all up to fate. I believe that God won't abandon his people."

John had also forgotten how Bulma had created the Dragon Radar in his previous life. In the original story, she seemed to have the Dragon Radar and the Dragon Balls from the start.

Although Bulma couldn't make the Dragon Radar yet, John believed that as long as he didn't deviate too much from the original story, Bulma would eventually create the Dragon Radar as she did in the plot.
