Chapter 12: Encountering the Sea Turtle

Although John Doe watched the Dragon Ball storyline when he was young, he only remembers the general plot. He is aware of the key points in the Dragon Ball storyline, but the detailed content is not very clear to him.

Therefore, he truly does not remember the specific events of Pilaf sending his subordinates to steal the Dragon Balls, so he did not make any arrangements, nor did he need to. John Doe is confident that with him and Goku around, no one on Earth could take the Dragon Balls from them.

While John Doe, Goku, and Bulma were sleeping in the room, Mai and Shu were flying a plane towards the Dragon Valley.

Because Pilaf's Dragon Radar is not very precise, it can only show the general location. Three Dragon Balls appeared in the Dragon Valley, so Mai and Shu were flying the plane in circles above the valley.

However, they knew one thing: the three Dragon Balls in the Dragon Valley must have been collected by someone. If no one had collected them, it would be impossible for three Dragon Balls to be together.

Thus, Mai and Shu just needed to find signs of human activity to locate the Dragon Balls.

Under the cover of the high mountains, the Dragon Valley was pitch black. From their high-altitude plane, Mai and Shu could not see the capsule house in the valley. However, they could not fly too low, as the noise from the plane's engine would wake up the people with the Dragon Balls.

Mai landed the plane on a flat area at the top of the mountain and said to Shu, "Let's go. We'll walk down into the valley to find the Dragon Balls. Remember to bring weapons." After speaking, she opened the plane's hatch and performed a graceful backflip, landing on the mountain's surface.

The two of them used a descent rope to rappel down from the mountain top into the valley. Once they were on the ground, they began to search the valley confidently.

However, they did not search for long before many pairs of red eyes appeared in the darkness around them, accompanied by low growls.

Mai immediately raised her submachine gun and shouted, "Who's there? Come out now, or we'll start shooting!"

Shu, as a ninja dog, drew his knife from his back, ready to fight. Since becoming Pilaf's subordinate, he had not had a chance to show his skills.

When the owners of the red eyes revealed themselves, Mai and Shu were shocked. They were surrounded by a pack of wolves.

These wolves were emaciated, but their eyes showed cruelty and hunger. The red eyes stared intently at Mai and Shu.

Mai said to Shu, "Talk to them. Ask them to let us go. Tell them we're lost."

Shu, feeling insulted, shouted, "They're wolves, I'm a dog. How can we communicate?!"

Before Mai could respond, a mournful howl echoed through the night. It was the wolf leader's call to attack. All the wolves charged at Mai and Shu.

The two of them were frightened and ran towards an area without wolves, with Mai firing shots at the wolf pack as they ran.

After their clothes were torn to shreds and their bodies covered in bite wounds, they finally reached their plane and took off, escaping from the Dragon Valley before the wolves could catch them.

The peaceful night quickly passed, and John Doe and Goku had already woken up. Little Goku was preparing to go out for some training.

John Doe suggested, "Goku, let's spar. It will help us improve faster."

Little Goku happily accepted John Doe's suggestion, and the two of them walked outside the capsule house.

After warming up, they got into position. This time, John Doe took the initiative, and the two quickly engaged in battle.

The intense sounds of their spar soon woke up Bulma, who was still sleeping. She rubbed her eyes and walked out of the capsule house, muttering, "Two lunatics, can't a person get some sleep?"

However, she only complained verbally. Seeing that breakfast was not yet prepared, she decided to make breakfast for everyone.

After Bulma finished preparing breakfast, she called out from the door, "Breakfast is ready!" John Doe and Little Goku ended their morning spar.

Both were drenched in sweat, but they were very happy with the feeling of a good workout.

John Doe said, "Let's go back and have breakfast. After that, we need to continue searching for the Dragon Balls."

After finishing breakfast, they washed up, and Bulma packed up the capsule house, preparing to continue their journey to find the Dragon Balls.

Just as they were about to get into the car and continue, Goku, with his sharp eyes, noticed a moving stone on the side of the road.

Goku called out excitedly, "John Doe, look, there's a moving stone!"

John Doe turned around and saw that the "stone" was actually a giant sea turtle. He immediately remembered the large sea turtle that belonged to Master Roshi and said, "That's not a stone, it's a sea turtle."

He then said to Bulma, "Bulma, stop the car."

Bulma, though confused, obeyed and stopped the car.

The giant sea turtle, hearing the car stop, was startled and immediately retreated into its shell, not daring to move.

John Doe walked over and asked, "Mr. Sea Turtle, do you need help?"

Hearing that the other party did not intend to eat him and was asking if he needed help, the sea turtle slowly extended its head and said, "Can you prepare some saltwater for me? I haven't had a drink for two days."

"Of course, no problem," John Doe immediately set up the capsule house and prepared a large bucket of saltwater for the sea turtle.

The sea turtle quickly drank the saltwater, and Goku, curious, watched from the side. Seeing the sea turtle drink so eagerly, he asked, "Mr. Sea Turtle, is it good?"

The sea turtle generously handed the bucket to Goku. Before John Doe could stop him, Goku picked up the bucket and took a big sip, then immediately spat it out, exclaiming, "So salty!"

Bulma, unable to hold back a laugh, took out fresh water for Goku to rinse his mouth.

After the sea turtle finished drinking, Bulma asked, "Mr. Sea Turtle, where are you headed?"

The sea turtle replied, "I'm going back to the sea, to my home."

"Back to the sea? Your direction is wrong. The sea is 120 kilometers to the south, but you're heading north," Bulma said.

"Ah! No wonder I haven't reached the sea after so many days. I was going in the wrong direction," the sea turtle said, dejectedly lying on the ground.

Suddenly, the sea turtle seemed to have an idea and said, "My master is Master Roshi. Could you help me get to the beach? I'm sure Master Roshi will thank you." He looked at John Doe and the others with hopeful eyes.
