Chapter 23: Heading Towards the Last Dragon Ball

Seeing the effect of his Kamehameha, Master Roshi couldn't help but laugh awkwardly and said to King Ox, "I didn't expect to lose control and not only extinguish the flames but also destroy your castle."

King Ox, out of respect for his master, quickly replied, "It's okay, Master. We can rebuild the castle. You must be tired!"

John Doe and Bulma ignored the conversation between the master and disciple and used the Dragon Radar to search for the sixth Dragon Ball among the ruins.

Soon, John Doe found the sixth Dragon Ball, the Seven-Star Ball, and cheered with Bulma.

However, Goku didn't join them in searching for the Dragon Balls. Instead, he approached Master Roshi, tugged at his sleeve, and looked at him eagerly, asking, "Grandpa, can I use the technique you just used?"

"What technique? Kamehameha?" Master Roshi asked in surprise.

Goku nodded eagerly.

Seeing Goku's desire to learn his ultimate move, the Kamehameha, Master Roshi found it amusing and said, "No, you're not ready yet. To use this technique, you'll need at least 50 more years of training." He held up five fingers to emphasize his point.

Hearing that he needed 50 more years of training to use the Kamehameha, Goku became discouraged. He went to the car and mimicked Master Roshi's movements, attempting to perform the Kamehameha.

Master Roshi, seeing Goku's determination, said, "Don't waste your effort. You're not yet capable of using the Kamehameha."

But before Master Roshi could finish his sentence, a flash of light appeared in Goku's hand, and he pushed forward, sending a weak energy wave towards the car, destroying only the tire. Nonetheless, he had successfully performed Master Roshi's signature move.

Goku's display left Master Roshi, King Ox, Bulma, who had just found the Dragon Ball, and Yamcha, who was spying from a distance, in awe.

King Ox exclaimed with joy, "You truly are the grandson of Son Gohan. You're incredible!"

Hearing King Ox's words, Master Roshi realized that Goku was the grandson of his favorite disciple, Son Gohan.

Master Roshi grew fonder of Goku the more he looked at him. He asked, "Goku, would you like to become my disciple and learn the ways of martial arts?"

Goku, thrilled by the offer, immediately agreed. However, he hesitated and explained that he had promised John Doe and Bulma to help them gather the Dragon Balls, so he wondered if he could wait until they had collected all the Dragon Balls before following Master Roshi to study martial arts.

Master Roshi readily agreed, and since they had found the Dragon Ball, they prepared to set off towards the last Dragon Ball.

But just then, Master Roshi approached Bulma and said suggestively, "Miss Bulma, you haven't forgotten your promise, have you?"

Bulma hadn't forgotten, but she was pretending not to remember. She whispered, "I didn't expect this old man to have such a good memory."

Master Roshi ignored her whispers and even stuck his tongue out at her.

Bulma said to him, "Wait here, and I'll call you later." She then took Oolong to the back of a dirt wall.

After a while, "Bulma" poked her head out from behind the wall and waved to Master Roshi, who eagerly ran towards her.

Soon, lewd laughter could be heard from behind the wall, and when Master Roshi emerged, there were traces of blood on his nose.

With the Dragon Ball found and Bulma having obtained King Ox's treasure, John Doe used a Capsule to transform it into a car, ready to drive everyone towards the last Dragon Ball.

At that moment, King Ox's daughter approached, her face slightly flushed. She spoke to Goku in the car, "Goku, remember your promise to me. When you grow up, you must come and marry me!"

Goku didn't understand what marriage meant and thought it was something delicious, so he readily agreed.

John Doe drove the car with Bulma, Goku, and Oolong, while Yamcha continued to follow discreetly in his car, now even more cautious after witnessing Goku's Kamehameha.

Bulma held the Dragon Radar and said, "John Doe, there's only one Dragon Ball left, the One-Star Ball. The radar shows it's over 300 kilometers away, deep in the desert."

"Are you excited that we're about to gather all the Dragon Balls and make your wish come true?"

Naturally, John Doe had a plan to deal with Pilaf and his gang. With his wish so close to being fulfilled after all this hard work, he was thrilled, thinking of the freedom and opportunities that awaited him.

John Doe turned to Bulma and said, "Bulma, thank you. You've been my best friend, and without you, I wouldn't have been able to gather all the Dragon Balls and make my wish."

He then looked at Goku and Oolong in the back seat and said, "Thank you both, Goku and Oolong. I hope we'll be friends for life."

Hearing John Doe's words, Goku rubbed his nose and smiled happily.

Oolong was also touched, even though they had spent a short time together, and he had initially been forced to join the group. He was moved to be considered a friend.

Bulma raised her fist and shouted, "Let's head towards the last Dragon Ball!"

"Yes!" everyone echoed.

John Doe floored the accelerator, and the car sped off towards the One-Star Dragon Ball deep in the desert.

At that moment, Pilaf, in his castle, saw on his giant Dragon Radar that six Dragon Balls had gathered and were rapidly approaching his castle. It was clear that the other party also had a Dragon Radar, allowing them to see the location of his Dragon Ball.

"Mai, Shu, do you see those six Dragon Balls? Go and get those Dragon Balls back for me. I don't want you to fail this time," Pilaf instructed his two subordinates.

"Yes, King Pilaf!" Mai and Shu responded.
