Chapter 25: Fortuneteller Baba

Master Roshi decided not to mention Tao Pai Pai to his disciples, as there was no need to add to their worries.

Goku continued, "I plan to gather all seven Dragon Balls, summon Shenron, and wish to revive Upa's father. But I've collected six Dragon Balls, and the seventh one isn't showing up on the Dragon Ball Radar."

"Bulma, take a look. Is this Dragon Ball Radar broken too?" Goku handed the radar to Bulma.

Bulma turned on the Dragon Ball Radar and saw six glowing dots on the screen. No matter how she adjusted it, the location of the seventh Dragon Ball didn't appear.

"The screen shows six Dragon Balls, proving that the Dragon Ball Radar isn't broken. The fact that the seventh Dragon Ball isn't showing up means it's likely stored in a lead container," Bulma explained.

"Lead containers effectively block the electromagnetic waves emitted by the Dragon Balls, preventing them from being detected."

"Oh, so that means I can't find the seventh Dragon Ball," Goku said, not fully understanding but realizing that the Dragon Ball Radar couldn't locate it.

"If that's the case, Upa's father can't be revived," Goku said sadly.

At that moment, Master Roshi spoke up, "Actually, I have an idea. We can go to Fortuneteller Baba. She has a magical crystal ball that can help you locate the seventh Dragon Ball."

"Really? Where is Fortuneteller Baba? Let's go there right now!" Goku exclaimed eagerly.

Master Roshi revealed Fortuneteller Baba's location, and everyone boarded the plane to fly to her estate, while Goku flew back to the area near Karin Tower to bring Upa along. John Doe was puzzled as to why Upa was needed at Fortuneteller Baba's place.

Initially, Master Roshi hadn't planned to go, as he didn't get along with his sister, and they hadn't seen each other for decades. However, John insisted that they needed Master Roshi's presence, as they were all young and might need his help in dealing with people. So, John forced Master Roshi onto the plane, and they all went together.

They arrived at Fortuneteller Baba's dojo, a massive estate with a unique and exotic style, located on the edge of a desert oasis.

At the entrance of the estate, many wealthy people were lining up to seek Fortuneteller Baba's help in finding lost items.

As a middle-aged wealthy couple passed by John and the others, the man said, "Fortuneteller Baba is truly amazing. She found your ring hidden in the sofa cushion in an instant."

"I knew the ring was somewhere in the house. You insisted that I had lost it," the woman replied, sounding aggrieved.

The man quickly consoled her, "Don't blame me for being anxious. That ring is worth 400 million. If it were lost, imagine how heartbroken you'd be..."

As the couple continued talking, they got into a luxurious car and drove off.

At that moment, a figure wearing a conical straw hat, who had just seen off the couple, floated towards John and the others.

John curiously observed the figure, which had no legs, only a white body, and two hands. "Are you a ghost?" he asked.

The ghostly figure replied, "I'm Fortuneteller Baba's servant, and I'm also a ghost. Do you need a fortune-telling service?"

Goku nodded and said, "We'd like to ask Fortuneteller Baba to help us find the last Dragon Ball."

The ghost nodded and said, "Sure, for 100 million Zeni."

"What? 100 million Zeni!" Everyone except John, Goku, and Bulma exclaimed in surprise at the price.

Goku tugged on John's sleeve and asked, "John, is 100 million a lot?"

John thought for a moment and replied, "For most people, it's a lot. Many people might not earn that much in their entire lives. But for Bulma, it's not much. Her family earns an unknown number of times that amount in a single day."

Goku didn't fully understand, but he grasped that 100 million was indeed a significant sum.

Goku and Upa didn't have any money, and while the others had some, it wasn't close to 100 million. Just as Bulma was about to generously offer to pay for Goku, the little ghost spoke again.

"It's okay if you don't have the money. We also offer free services if you can defeat five of our fighters. Then, Fortuneteller Baba will provide a free fortune-telling for you."

Everyone felt relieved, and Bulma no longer needed to pay. Krillin proudly said, "Are you sure? We have four top eight finalists from the World Martial Arts Tournament here, including the runner-up."

The ghost's face suddenly transformed into an eerie smile. "Of course, I'm sure. That's Fortuneteller Baba's rule."

"In that case, what should we do? Do we need to wait in line?" John asked.

"If you choose the challenge, you don't need to wait. Those in line are paying customers. Follow me," the ghost said with a smile, leading John and the others into the estate.

Soon, they found themselves in a dimly lit palace, where a giant crystal ball hovered in the center. As they entered, the crystal ball slowly floated towards them.

It was then that they noticed an old woman with wrinkled skin and a small stature, wearing a wizard's hat, standing on the crystal ball.

Upon seeing John and his group, Fortuneteller Baba immediately recognized her brother and taunted him, "Ah, it's my good-for-nothing brother. Are you still as lustful as ever?" She then turned to Bulma and Launch, saying, "Girls, be careful around this old pervert. He's probably thinking of ways to take advantage of you right now."

"What nonsense are you spouting? You old hag, mind your own business!" Master Roshi retorted, offended by his sister's accusations.

"Brother?!" Everyone was shocked to hear that Fortuneteller Baba was Master Roshi's sister.

Unbothered by their surprise, Fortuneteller Baba asked, "Do you have something you want me to help you find?"

Everyone's gaze shifted to Goku, and Fortuneteller Baba directed her question towards him as well.

Goku curiously examined Fortuneteller Baba, standing on the crystal ball, and suddenly asked, "Are you a girl, Grandma? But why don't you have any breasts?"
