It has been four days since the start of the trial, although the pain of the change for Kai had long ended. The pain of the trial was relentless, they were only given an hour break every twelfth hour so that the Uriel and Lilith could regain their strength and so Kylan and Sirius could retain their sanity.
No one had slept since the start and it weighed more on Kai and Sirius since with every push they came closer to death.
Once it was all said and done Uriel and Lilith carried the two home, their daughter Mary was not happy to see them at all, but was lenient on them given the circumstances.
Mary ended up taking care of her parents for two additional days and the others for three. While her parents were mostly fine aside from being depleted and exhausted, the other two were fully unconscious up until the third night.
She was adept at healing and was very proficient at taking care of others even without her ability. She used her power to keep them alive and healthy as well as to make sure they had the nutrients they needed even while unconscious.
Her ability leaned more towards her mother's copy cat ability but wielded the light properties of her father's ability. So anything to do with healing was boosted ten fold as long as she had the knowledge to control it.
Sirius was the first to awaken, given his natural healing abilities, as well as his resistance from the years of vigorous training with his parents, he had recovered a few hours before Kylan.
Once Kylan awoke he was given two additional days to recover and get used to his new body.
"I did it, I finally made it. I'm stronger now, plus I've got some help with me when i return." Kylan thought to himself as he finished his plate, he looked over at Sirius whom was sitting on the steps outside waiting for what comes next.
Kylan got up from his chair, a question appeared in his mind and decided there would be no better time to ask. So walking over serious he hesitated, but Sirius noticing him scooted over allowing him to sit.
"What's on your mind?.?." Sirius asked still looking at the view.
"I just... how did you know what I wanted?? You.. don't know me, and I didn't tell you." Kai asked his curiosity won over his nerves, he hadn't known him for long but felt like he could trust him with his life, and would give his own if need be.
"I... I'm not sure really, it's like when you made that vow and transferred your power to me there was this connection I felt. It just.. told me everything you know, like I could feel the emotions you hid away from everyone. I mean I can feel it even now... can't you.?.?"
Sirius turned to look at Kylan who was thinking of what he had said. He was right after all there was a connection and it had grown, they had spent four gruesome days hanging on by a thread together.
He knew it meant something but he had no idea what it was but the feeling felt so indescribable. It was so foreign yet familiar although he felt that way about his own body at the moment as well, after all he himself had just went through a transformation. Maybe now he could truly do something.
As if reading his mind Sirius patted his shoulder without saying a word then looked back toward the clouds.
"Awe, look at my little warriors bonding. Come on you two, time to head back to the mortal realm." Lilith said giving them a warm motherly smile.
Heading back inside they walked past Mary who was more than happy to see them. Even though she had just met them, she held them as older brothers in her mind and heart.
She walked toward them giving them each a hug and checking to make sure there was nothing wrong with them physically and mentally.
"I over heard dad talking about the mortals preparing to come here, when they do you guys will visit me right.?.?" Mary said walking between the two, nudging them in the ribs a little too hard.
"Of course we will, I'm actually one of the top mortals down there so I'll have a front row seat to the event. I'm sure they won't mind me making a pit stop." Kai said rubbing his side, which made her smile widen.
She looked over at Sirius who was rubbing the back of his neck.
"Of course, I live here too you know, plus wherever he goes I won't be far behind. Thanks for everything Mary, we owe you our lives, literally." He said wrapping his arm around her shoulder. Seeing this Kai did the same, and they walked out toward the backyard laughing and joking with bright smiles, like they'd known eachother for years.
A bright smile formed on the face of Lilith as she saw the three, the two of them were pretty busy, so she hadn't seen much of her hanging with others. It warmed her heart seeing her this way.
Uriel on the other hand snuck up behind them and practically jumped on their backs wrapping his arms around them.
He had startled them at first, but they all started laughing as he chased them around the yard.
In the end although things started off rocky they had all grown pretty close the last few days.
Uriel was impacted the most his mood had gotten a lot better as if the stress of his job had never existed. He had grown quite fond of the two and enjoyed their company.
Being the current strongest, as well as the leader of the council, it was quite hard to make honest friends who enjoyed his company without fear.
He too felt like they were his family just has Mary did, Lilith was happy as well but was also plagued by the thought of how different things would be if Sirius had known what they did.
"Alright alright, it's time these two head off." Lilith said as a large gate began to form infront of her. The door was black with heavy chains strapped around it.
As the two got closer the heavy chains crashed to the floor, as the doors opened a heavy wind flew out.
Sirius stood in awe, as it was his first time seeing it. Kai walked up behind him and patted him on the back as he walked in front with a bright smile on his face, Sirius in turned followed.
Before they walked through they turned saying their goodbyes one last time, the others waved as they left. They were saddened at the loss of their company but knew they would return soon.
"So the kid, what do you think of him now.?.?" Lilith asked still watching as the gate closed behind them.
"He's stronger than we were back then, I'll give you that. He'll go far, and might even pass us by the time he gets back." Uriel said smiling as he hugged Mary tight.
"Best not to slack on our training then huh." Lilith said looking at him with fire in her eyes.
"Don't worry daddy you can beat him." Mary said looking up at him.
"Thank you pumpkin, don't worry he won't pass me that easily." He said rubbing her hair.
"Come on sweetheart daddies got things he needs to take care of." Lilith grabbed her hand as she skipped heading back inside.
"Welp, it's about time I wake the other two." He yawned as he stretched heading inside behind them and heading to his office.

In a dimly lit room two people sat in front of a bed, John sat his face buried in his hands his eyes filled with sorrow. His tired eyes held bags as if preparing for a long trip, and were red as a rose from the tears he shed for his son.
It had been hours since the event and he had refused to rest or leave his son's side. Vash understood and decided to accompany him, staying by his side the whole time, urging the others not to bother the two.
In the corner of the room Vash sat with his hands together with his arms resting on his legs, a dark expression covered his face.
"Get up, you're not that weak. You said you would take my place as king, you dare to break a promise to me." As soon as Vash said this the air grew heavy, and a smile appeared on his face.
The building began to shake as an immense aura began to eminate from Kai's body. John slowly looked up, his dead eyes shown new light as he looked to see his son staring at him with a bright smile on his face.
"Sorry I took so long dad, you don't have to worry anymore... (I'll protect us)."
