What the...?!

What the...?!

Seriously?!

He actually pulled the *Beast Tide*?!

Zane was dumbfounded!

He knew it—Harrison, Yuri, and Xiomara had totally jinxed him!

Damn it!

In reality, Harrison, Yuri, and Xiomara weren't feeling much better.

None of them wanted the *Beast Tide* to actually be drawn!

Especially Xiomara, who reacted the fastest, shouting to Zane immediately,

"Teleport! Use the teleportation stone now!"

Only then did Zane snap back to his senses, hastily using the teleportation stone that Xiomara had given him earlier.

As his figure vanished, the three club leaders quickly sprang into action, executing their prearranged plan.

Just about two minutes after Zane pulled the *Beast Tide*, a thunderous roar echoed across the nearby three clubs!

Jexon had been lying on his single bed, resting with his eyes closed.

When he heard the explosion, his eyes snapped open, filled with nothing but calmness and clarity.

Spencer, on the other hand, had been downstairs, working out with the muscular guy to avoid wasting the effects of the "All Attributes +5" buff.

He had just done over a hundred push-ups without breaking a sweat, which left the guy beside him shocked.

Spencer was just considering striking up a conversation with the guy when the explosion hit!

He jerked in surprise and reflexively shouted, "What the hell?!"

The guy next to him looked startled too, his expression changing as he muttered,

"Something's wrong!"

"S-Something wrong?! What's happening?!" Spencer was panicking.

The muscular guy shot him a glance, "How the hell should I know? We wait for the word!"

"W-Wait for the word...?" Spencer was about to ask more questions, but the guy cut him off, explaining,

"The official players can communicate through their fate disks in real-time, sharing information quickly."

"Even though George isn't an official player, as a squad leader, he should have contacts with at least one official player."

As he spoke, hurried footsteps came from the staircase, accompanied by George's urgent, booming voice:

"Everyone, gather up! All members in the villa, gather up now!"

To make sure nobody slacked off, George added,

"Brother Liao from Squad Seven, Liao Yuanfeng, just sent me a message!"

Apparently, the name of this official player, Liao Yuanfeng, carried more weight than George's own authority.

Within two minutes, all nine members of the squad had gathered in the living room on the first floor.

Jexon blended into the group, looking entirely calm.

Spencer, however, was startled by what he saw—the rest of the squad...

They all looked so defeated!

Not only that, but two or three of them were carrying injuries!

Spencer's earlier bravado began to fade, and fear crept into his heart.

Had joining the daredevil squad really been the right decision?

No! No second-guessing. It *had* to be the right choice!

After all, he now had the "All Attributes +5" buff active!

With that buff, he was probably stronger than George right now!

And all of this...

Spencer glanced at Jexon.

Then, without saying a word, he subtly moved to sit next to him.

George tapped the table to get everyone's attention, then quickly spread out a map and spoke at a rapid pace:

"Just got word that the Blood Butterfly Club pulled a *Beast Tide* from the purple Slot Machine!"

"What?! *Beast Tide*?!"

"And from a purple Slot Machine?!"

In an instant, the previously lethargic daredevil squad members reacted with alarm:

"A purple-tier *Beast Tide*... Isn't that supposed to be ten times more terrifying than the one that hit Burlington Duke University?!"

"Ten times...?! What does that even mean?! It's like comparing a century and a millennium! It sounds like a simple tenfold difference, but let me ask you—who here has even a hundred years of lifespan?"

"Most of us are lucky to have ten years of lifespan left! And now they expect us, who barely have ten years, to face off against a *Beast Tide* pulled from a thousand years' worth of lifespan?!"

"We're the daredevil squad, not the actual 'want-to-die' squad!"

Clearly, the news of the purple-tier *Beast Tide* had caused a huge uproar among the members. They were filled with dread and discontent.

George, however, had expected this reaction. He slammed his hand on the table, yelling,

"Quiet!"

"Don't panic! Yes, this *Beast Tide* is purple-tier, but the leaders of our club—Harrison, as well as Yuri from the MJ Club and Xiomara from the Blood Butterfly Club—"

"These three leaders have all prepared extensively to deal with this *Beast Tide*!"

"That massive explosion you heard earlier wasn't caused by the beasts—it was one of the traps they set off in advance!"

"So, yes, the scale of this *Beast Tide* is far beyond what hit Burlington Duke University."

"But the combined strength of our three clubs is far superior to those students back then!"

"And, because we prepared in advance before the draw even took place..."

"This *Beast Tide* is something we can handle!"

"Plus, our mission as the daredevil squad isn't to be cannon fodder on the front lines."

At this point, George pointed to the map in front of him,

"Look here. This is the purple Slot Machine area, the current epicenter of the *Beast Tide*."

Then, using a red pen, he drew a circle around the outer perimeter of the purple Slot Machine area,

"This is the first line of defense, and it will be held by the core members of the three clubs."

Next, George drew an even larger yellow circle outside of the red one.

"This is the second line of defense, and it will be manned by the official members of the clubs."

Hearing this, the squad members began to relax.

So they weren't being sent straight into the thick of the *Beast Tide* to die...

Spencer also exhaled in relief and asked,

"So what's our role in this, as the daredevil squad?"

George pointed at the map again and explained,

"Based on past experiences, *Beast Tides* spread outward like ripples in water—starting from the epicenter and expanding in concentric circles."

"Although the first two defensive lines will be manned by stronger members, some of the beasts will inevitably slip through and spread further out."

George then used a highlighter to draw an even larger circle,

"Our job is to handle the outermost area."

The muscular guy from earlier furrowed his brows, looking at the large area they were responsible for.

"We don't have enough manpower to cover such a large region."

"Don't worry," George reassured him with a confident smile,

"The concentration of beasts in this outer area will be much lower, so it's barely even a *Beast Tide* at that point."

"Our squad will only need to guard key spots within this larger circle. As for the rest of the area, we'll clear out any remaining beasts after the main wave passes."

George then took a black pen and circled the area where the Backstabber Club was located, which overlapped with the highlighted outermost circle.

He shaded in the overlapping section and said,

"This is the area our squad will be responsible for."

The squad members breathed a collective sigh of relief and nodded in agreement.

Jexon also felt relieved, knowing that George's plan was almost exactly the same as in his previous life.

For him, this *Beast Tide* wasn't particularly dangerous.

What Jexon truly cared about was the opportunity that came with the *Beast Tide*!

Sure, he had the ability to designate Slot Machine rewards.

And yes, he had given himself a +5 buff to all attributes, making it seem like he could just coast along, unbeatable.

But in reality, he was facing a significant problem—

His lifespan was only 30 days!

30 days! Not even enough to spin the lowest-tier white Slot Machine once!

As the saying goes, "Even the best cook can't make a meal without ingredients."

No matter how powerful his ability to designate Slot Machine rewards was, without enough lifespan to actually spin the Slot Machine, it was useless!

Of course, he could do what he did in his previous life—fighting tooth and nail for a month in the daredevil squad, risking his life against the high mortality rate, scraping together time currency and club points to eventually exchange for the club's inferior **Longevity Elixir**.

And to top it off, that **Longevity Elixir** was made by Bethany!

For one, that whole process was too slow and too much effort for Jexon.

For another, Jexon had no intention of ever buying anything made by Bethany again in this life.

So…

He *had* to seize the opportunity that came with this *Beast Tide* and secure himself another chance to spin the Slot Machine as soon as possible!
