Ugh, my body feels all sore. Wait a minute… How come I can feel my body? Tails groaned as he slowly opened his eyes to find himself in a white room with a monitor beeping as sharp lines moved across it. Above it was a number: 63. Where am I? The last thing I remember is closing my eye- However, his thoughts were interrupted by a sudden pain in his head causing him to shout out in pain. As the pain subsided, Tails suddenly saw it. Floating up in front of him was a mysterious holographic pop up.

Great, now I'm hallucinating. Tails rubbed his eyes only to see with astonishment that the pop up now read 'I'm not a hallucination!' "Wait. You mean this is actually happening?!" Tails thought out loud. Suddenly, the door was thrown open as Samuel walked in. His eyes widened with surprise as he saw Tails sitting up. "Hey, you're awake! I was waiting for days for you to wake up!" Tails grinned back at him before the words hit him. "Wait? DAYS?! How long was I unconscious for?" He asked in shock. "Relax. It's only been a couple of days. I was worried as soon as I heard about your wound. However, now I have nothing to worry about. We sh-" However, Tails suddenly interrupted him. "Hey, quick question. You see this right?!" "See what?" Samuel asked in confusion. "The weird pop up in front of me. It just appeared as soon as I woke up." "What do you mean? I don't see anything in front of you." Samuel replied. "Why are you asking me that question?" "No reason. I just thought I saw a pop up. It could have been a hallucination." As soon as Samuel left the room, Tails immediately looked back at the pop up. So I'm the only one who can see this which means one thing: this system is only visible to me! Tails looked back at the pop up which had went back to normal while he was talking to Samuel. Here we go. Tails flinched in pain as he raised his arm towards the screen and pressed 'Yes'. Suddenly, a strange light enveloped him and several windows appeared in front of him.

"You've got to be kidding me!" Tails shouted. "I just had my Awakening and my stats are this low?!" However, before he could explode with anger, he suddenly remembered something his brother had told him an long time ago…

"Really? You beat that monster with just your sword?!" A excited 7 year old Tails asked. In front of him was a blue hedgehog with long quills, green eyes, a jacket, white gloves, red shoes with a golden buckle, and a huge grin on his face. "Yeah, I did! I don't get why this monster was classified as Rank C when a simple swipe of a melee weapon can easily beat it." "Wow! Were you as strong as you were when you had your Awakening?" Sonic looked at him as if Tails had 2 heads and burst out laughing. "Actually, no because if everyone awakened their full power at once, the world as we know it would end!" Sonic then stopped laughing and looked at Tails. "But, in all seriousness, every Awakener including me had to start at the bottom and climb our way to the top. When I first Awakened, I was a laughingstock because my stats were so low. But, I wanted…no…needed to become stronger! And with lots of hard work, determination, and effort, I managed to become one of the strongest Awakened." Tails was astonished. It meant that with hard work, even he could become stronger.

"So, what I need to do right now is start working on my strength, speed, and stamina. I can always work on the rest later." Tails clenched his fist with determination as a notification appeared in front of him.

Looks like I'm going with the Simple Training Regimen for now. Tails thought as he tapped the entry for that training regimen. Suddenly, the window disappeared and a loud noise startled him.

However, his smile then faded as soon as he remembered that he was still bedridden from his injuries. I want to start this quest immediately, but beggars can't be choosers. Tails sighed as he lied back down on his bed. However, suddenly, a strange thing happened. A warm feeling went throughout Tails' body as it began to rapidly repair itself. The pain from his injuries vanished while his wounds closed themselves. Within several seconds, his body went from being nearly destroyed to perfect condition much to his astonishment. What?! All of my wounds are gone! How is- But before he could finish his thoughts, another Status Window suddenly appeared. It was the exact same except for one thing.

Wait, seriously?! Most S-rankers would kill to have this ability! Tails thought. Despite special machines being able to help Adventurers regenerate, getting the ability to be able to regenerate on your own without the help of special equipment was an extremely rare occurrence and Tails had just easily gained this ability without lifting a finger. Tails helped himself out of the bed, immediately opened the door to his room, and started to head towards the front desk to get his clothes and check out. For the first time in his life, he had a chance to get stronger and follow his dream. "Watch it everybody! I'm going to become the strongest member of the Elite Squad!" Tail shouted as he threw his fist in the air with triumph before he ran towards the front desk ignoring the fact that people around the infirmary were staring at him as if he had gone crazy.
