Chapter 16
Alone, Sung-Yoon lost herself in thoughts.
Contemplating whether to tell him about what happened (Hae Jin using his powers) earlier or not.
Hae Jin didn't look like the type to use his powers for selfish gains. A good ghost he was, and might actually become a good hunter too. Well, only if he trained hard.
He also had the heart, which was needed when dealing with some evil ghosts.
Those who would listen.
Those kinds had to know there was a better place for them after they crossed over. Nothing good would come out of their current ways, whether it was settling scores with those who hurt them when they were alive or just gaining more power to survive or something else, they had to see and accept that nothing good would come out of it.
They had to choose the afterlife, choose the light and start afresh. She believed Hae Jin was one of those souls who could make them see and accept this.
*Sigh, gosh,.........she was so hungry!!! Where the heck was her food?!
It's been two and half hours since Hae Jin retreated to his shell and she still hasn't had the heart to get him out and ask where he hid the food.
She didn't want to disturb the poor guy who was going through something she has never been through.
Who were those two anyway? Why did he feel so much anger when he saw them? It wasn't the same the first time he saw them. What changed?
*Knock, Knock,
Her attention was gained and right away, she knew who it was. The kid was here.
What should she do? The kid couldn't see her nor hear her. And Hae Jin wasn't around either.
Who would open the door for him?
She thought, her gaze at the direction of the door.
"Hyung! It is Tae Jin, I'm here" the kid yelled and Sung-Yoon sighed, stood up and headed for the door.
She stopped, some distance between them and said, "Come in" and then thought, 'Not like you can hear me'
But in the next second, she was taken aback. The door opened, revealing the cute kid in a yellow shirt with long jeans down to his ankles and black scandals.
Extremely cute, he looked.
"What the......." Was all Sung-Yoon could say, speechless as she watched the kid stroll in after closing the door. The living room was his destination.
What the heck? Why did the kid invite himself in without permission? That was rude of him!!
Angrily, she followed behind him.
Hae Jin has given the kid too much freedom. This just wasn't done!
Getting into the living room, the kid took a seat on one of the couches, looking around for his hyung. Taking a seat on the couch on the right side of the one the kid sat on, Sung-Yoon continued to glare the living life out of the poor kid.
It really was a good thing he couldn't see her.
"Hyung, where are you?"
"Your hyung can't come down" Sung-Yoon said annoyingly and like the kid heard her, he stated, "I guess, I'll wait until he comes down"
'Shit!, did he hear me?' She emphatically said, staring at the kid.
He heard her right? That's why he answered back right?! Gosh! How was this possible? Tae Jin could only see Hae Jin.
Wait a moment, could it be.............he has been pretending not to see her?
The second time the kid came over, you know, that time when they sat on the same couch, he stared at her. Directing in the eyes.
At that moment, Sung-Yoon felt he could see her even though he was staring at her with a questioning look that stated the obvious 'Who was Hae Jin talking to', but she didn't pay it much attention.
She was more focused on the fact that the kid was staring at her right in the eyes.
Author: My dear God, did it occur to you that in his eyes, he was staring at nothing?
Sung-Yoon: Shut up! Let me continue!
Could she be right? Could it be that this kid has been pretending not to see her?
"Hey! Brat!" Sung-Yoon said, getting up and she made her way in front of Tae Jin. She crossed her hands over her chest and sternly asked, "You can hear me, right? You've been pretending not to see me right?" Testing the kid to confirm her suspicions but he showed no sign of proving her right.
He was just scanning around, calling out Hae Jin.
"Hyung! Where are you? I'm here"
Pretending! The kid was definitely pretending! He could see her, hear her.
Why was he pretending?
"Hae Jin won't come down. He's busy" she said to him, trying to trap the kid into talking to her but it seemed the kid was smarter than her. Well, Sung-Yoon was never the brightest student when she was alive.
Sung-Yoon: Shut up!
"Maybe he's busy, I'll just wait until he comes down," the smart kid said, not falling into her trap.
Seriously,........... could she be wrong?
Author: That's what I've been saying!
Maybe the kid couldn't see her after all.
Author: And she ignored me.
No!Her instincts have never been wrong.
This kid could see her.
Sung-Yoon thought, glaring at the kid, but that lasted for a few seconds. Tae Jin looked up at her and smiled, shocking her but she didn't get a moment to think.
A sad expression formed on the kid's face and he lowered down his head and said, "Hyung must be doing something important, or maybe, he just doesn't want to see me. Which one is it?"
Now Sung-Yoon was beyond confused.
What the heck was up with that smile? This sad look?! And what?
Did he just talk to her?
