Phew I survived I'm glad I passed the first test. Miro thought, relief filling him.
After the results were announced, Professor Liana stood up, gathering the papers in her hands.
"Alright, batch five," she said, her voice authoritative. "Now that you have been tested for your basic magical aptitude, we will move on to the next part of your enlistment - the assessment test. This test will determine your magical compatibility and your potential specialities.
"But first you guys can go have your lunch now the cafeteria is on the ground floor. After 50 minutes your guys should be back here. And if you are late you cannot take the second exam anymore you failed the exam even if you can do it. We are strict in time. You guys are now dismissed". Professor Liana said sternly as she left the room.
Miro let out a sigh of relief as the students were dismissed for lunch. His stomach rumbled, reminding him that he hadn't eaten anything since breakfast that morning. He stood up, stretching his legs, sore from sitting on the hard floor for so long.
He made his way out of the testing room and followed the signs towards the cafeteria. The students around him were buzzing with excitement and anxiety, discussing their test results and speculating about the second assessment test.
Miro scanned the hallway, hoping to catch a glimpse of Luna amongst the sea of students. He finally spotted her walking down the hallway, chatting with a few other students. He quickened his pace to catch up with her."Luna," he called out, panting slightly from the exertion. "Hey, wait up!" Luna turned around at the sound of her name, her eyes widening in surprise to see Miro running towards her. She stopped walking, waiting for him to catch up to her.
"Hey," Miro said, catching his breath. "I was looking for you. How did your test go?" Luna grinned at him, a mischievous gleam in her eyes. "I passed, of course. It was easy peasy. And judging by the fact that you're here, I'm assuming you passed too?"
Miro snorted at her smugness. "Yeah, I passed," he said, unable to keep a smile off his face. "Barely, but I passed." Luna laughed, punching him lightly on the shoulder. "Typical Miro. Cutting it close as always." Luna said. "Hey, at least I passed," he retorted, rubbing his shoulder. "What about the other students in your batch? Did they pass too?"
"Yeah, most of them did," Luna replied, shrugging. "There were a few who didn't, but it's not too surprising. The Academy is pretty strict with their standards." Miro nodded in agreement. "Yeah, the professors seemed pretty intense," he said, recalling the stern looks on Professor Liana and Professor Gandor's faces. "I wonder what the assessment test will be like."
"Oh, I'm sure it will be a breeze," Luna said confidently. "We already passed the first test, so the second one will be a piece of cake." Miro raised an eyebrow at her confidence. "You're awfully sure of yourself," he said, amused. "Is that how you approach every difficult situation?"
"Of course," Luna said, crossing her arms. "Why waste time worrying about something that hasn't happened yet? It's better to go into something with confidence, otherwise you're already defeated." Miro shook his head in disbelief. "You're something else," he said, laughing. "I guess there's no point in worrying about the test then, since you seem to have it all figured out."
"Exactly!" Luna said, nodding. "Come on, let's go get some lunch. We have to be back in the testing room in 50 minutes, remember?" "Right, right," Miro said, reluctantly letting her change the subject. "Lead the way, oh confident one." Luna rolled her eyes at his sarcastic quip, but she couldn't help but smile. She led the way down the hallway towards the cafeteria, with Miro following closely behind her.
They entered the cafeteria, which was bustling with students chatting and eating. The smell of food wafted through the air, making Miro's stomach rumble again. "I'm starving," he said, his eyes scanning the room for an available table. "Let's find somewhere to sit."
"Way ahead of you," Luna said, already making a beeline for an empty table in the corner. Miro followed her, taking a seat opposite her.
They were soon joined by other students from their batch, filling up the rest of the table. Some of them were already discussing the next test, while others were chatting about other things. Miro listened idly, his mind wandering to the upcoming assessment test. He could feel a sense of anxiety creeping up on him, despite his best efforts to push it down. What would the second test be like? Would it be harder than the first? Would he be able to keep up with Luna and the others?
After lunch, the students gathered back in the testing room, once again taking their seats on the floor. Professor Liana stood up at the front of the room, once again flanked by Professor Gandor. "Alright, batch five," Professor Liana said, her voice authoritative. "It is time to begin the assessment test. This test will be much more challenging than the first one, and it will test all aspects of your magical aptitude." The Professor glanced down at her notes, then looked back up at the students. Professor Gandor stood silently beside her, his hawk-like gaze scanning the faces of the students.
"Before we begin, I would like to remind you all of the rules," Professor Liana continued. "You will not be allowed a break throughout the entire test, and any attempts to cheat will result in immediate disqualification. Do I make myself clear?" The students nodded in agreement, their eyes fixed on the Professor. There was a sense of anticipation in the air, mixed with a hint of nervousness.
"Good," Professor Liana said, nodding in satisfaction. "You will be tested individually, just as you were in the first test. Now, let us begin." The Professor clapped her hands, and suddenly, a group of other instructors entered the room. They began to call out the name of each student, one by one.
Miro watched as his classmates were called up, each one disappearing through the door and into the hallway. The room grew quieter with each disappearance, and Miro could feel his own anxiety mounting as his turn drew nearer. Finally, the last student was called and the door shut behind them, leaving Miro alone in the room with Professor Liana and Professor Gandor. Professor Liana looked down at her notes, then back up at Miro.
"Miro Dragoner," she called out, her voice firm. "It is your turn." Miro took a deep breath and rose to his feet, trying to calm his racing heart. He made his way towards the front of the room, the gaze of Professor Liana and Professor Gandor following his every move. Professor Liana gestured towards the door, signaling for him to go through.
He stepped through the door and into the hallway, the sound of the door shutting behind him ringing in his ears. The hallway was silent and empty, the only noise being the sound of his own footsteps as he walked down the corridor. As he walked, he tried to steady his breathing, taking deep breaths to calm his nerves. He had no idea what the second test would involve, but he was determined to give it his all, no matter how difficult it might be.
Finally, after several minutes of walking, he came to a stop in front of a door. There was a sign on the door that read 'Assessment Room.' He took another deep breath, then pushed the door open. The inside of the room was dimly lit, with only a few lamps illuminating the space. In the center of the room was a large table, and seated behind the table were several other instructors, all looking at him expectantly.
Miro swallowed, his mouth suddenly dry. This was it, the second test. He made his way to the table, trying not to let his nervousness show. One of the instructors, a stern-looking bald man, spoke up. The bald instructor looked Miro up and down, his gaze cold and assessing. "Name?" he asked gruffly.
"M-M-Miro Dragoner," Miro responded, stuttering slightly with nervousness. The instructor nodded and noted down something on his sheet of paper. "Very well," the instructor said. "Please take a seat." He gestured towards a chair in front of the table.
Miro nodded and sat down in the chair, his hands clenching the armrests to keep them from shaking. The other instructors looked at him with the same cold, assessive stare that the bald instructor had given him. The bald instructor spoke again, his voice brisk and businesslike. "This test will assess your magical aptitude in various areas, including spell casting, energy manipulation, and magical theory. You will be asked a series of questions and will be required to perform certain tasks as well. Are you ready to begin?"
Miro nodded, his throat feeling like sandpaper. "Y-Yes," he managed to say, his voice cracking slightly. The bald instructor nodded, then shuffled through his papers. "Excellent. Let's begin with the theory portion of the test. Can you tell me the difference between conjuration and transmutation?"
Miro's mind raced as he tried to recall his magical theory lessons. "Conjuration is the act of creating something from nothing," he said, his voice steadying. "It involves pulling energy from the surrounding environment and molding it into a physical object or creature."
The instructor nodded, seemingly pleased with Miro's answer. "Correct. And what about transmutation?"
Miro took a deep breath, trying to calm his racing heart. "Transmutation involves changing the form of an object or organism, rather than creating it from scratch," he explained. "It requires an understanding of the atomic structure of the object and the ability to manipulate it to change its form or properties."
The bald instructor nodded again, making a note on his paper. "Good. You seem to have a decent understanding of magical theory. Now let's move on to the practical portion of the test." Miro felt a pang of nervousness at the words "practical portion", but he tried to keep his expression neutral. "Okay," he said, his voice steady. "What do I need to do?"
One of the other instructors leaned forward, his gaze fixed on Miro. "We will ask you to perform several spells, each one slightly more challenging than the last. The spells will test your control and precision, as well as your ability to handle more powerful magic." Miro took a deep breath, trying to quell the butterflies fluttering in his stomach. He could do this. He had prepared for this. He just needed to stay calm and focused. "Alright," he said, his voice firm. "I'm ready."
The instructors exchanged a glance, then the bald instructor spoke up. "Very well. Your first spell will be a simple transformation spell. Please change the color of this object from red to blue."
Another instructor passed him a small, round stone, which appeared to be painted red with some kind of enamel.
Miro took the stone in his hand, feeling its weight and texture. He closed his eyes for a moment, focusing his magic on the stone. He could feel the energy building up within him as he summoned his willpower, trying to force the stone's color to change. It felt impossible but Miro kept trying and trying.
After Miro successfully cast the transformation spell, the instructors nodded in approval. They moved on to the next spell, each one more difficult and demanding than the last. Despite the increasing difficulty, Miro managed to perform each spell with precision and control, his confidence growing with each successful cast.
Once the practical portion of the test was complete, the instructors began asking Miro questions about magical history and theory. Miro answered each question with ease, his knowledge of both topics clearly on display.
After what felt like an eternity, the bald instructor finally nodded, signaling the end of the test. "Well done, young man," he said, his expression slightly less stoic than before. "You have demonstrated a high level of magical aptitude and knowledge. You should be proud of yourself."
As the instructor spoke, Miro couldn't help but feel a wave of relief wash over him. He had done it. He had completed the second test, and it seemed that he had passed. A small smile tugged at the corners of his mouth, despite his best efforts to keep his expression neutral.
"Thank you," he said, his voice steadier than he felt. "I'm grateful for the opportunity to show what I can do." The instructor nodded, then shuffled through his papers once more. "Your performance on this test was impressive, to say the least," he said, a hint of approval in his voice. "You have a bright future ahead of you."
Miro felt a surge of pride at the praise, but he tried to keep his expression cool. "Thank you," he said again, feeling a bit embarrassed by the compliment.
The instructor gave a small nod, then looked at the other instructors. They exchanged glances and mutters, seemingly discussing something amongst themselves. After a few moments of hushed discussion, the instructor spoke up again. "We have come to a decision regarding your magical proficiency," he said, his voice serious. "You have demonstrated a high level of skill and knowledge, and we believe that you would be a valuable addition to the student body here at the Academy."
Miro's heart skipped a beat as he heard the instructor's words. He could hardly believe it - he had passed the second test and been accepted into the Academy. A mixture of joy and disbelief washed over him, making it difficult to keep a straight face.
"R-really?" he managed to stammer out, his voice betraying his excitement. The instructor nodded. "Yes," he said, his expression serious but with a hint of a smile in his eyes. "You have shown great potential and promise. We would be glad to have you as a student here at the Magic Academy."
Miro's mind was racing as he tried to contain his excitement. He had always dreamed of attending the Magic Academy, and now that dream was finally becoming a reality. "Thank you," he said again, feeling like he was about to burst with joy. "I won't let you down, I promise."
This is too good to be true..I thought it was impossible but I guess it's possible..
