Chapter 48

Miranda swiftly followed Abel into Prince Kael's tent, her eyes scanning the dimly lit space. "Abel!" she called out, her voice laced with urgency. As Abel turned to face her, a look of surprise crossed his features. He approached Miranda, his hands grasping her shoulders, and relief washed over him.

"Are...you okay?" Abel asked, his voice tinged with concern. But Miranda's face betrayed her, worry etched on her features. She grasped his hand desperately, her eyes locking onto his. "I think I know where Prince Kael is," she muttered, her voice hoarse from the cold and rain.

Abel's expression remained calm, but his grip on her hand tightened. "Where is he?" he asked, his voice low and urgent. A few minutes later, Miranda sat on the bed inside Prince Kael's tent, her eyes scanning the space. She could almost sense Prince Kael's presence, imagining him sleeping in the bed, sitting at the table, and drinking tea she had made for him.
