chapter 56

Miranda and Sarah sat in silence at the Moonlight Tea Shop, the soft hum of conversation and the gentle clinking of teacups filling the air. Miranda's mind wandered, trying to make sense of the fragmented memories and plans that Sarah had mentioned earlier.

As she pondered, Miranda's gaze drifted out the window, her eyes losing focus. She could see glimpses of memories that didn't feel quite her own - hazy images and muffled sounds that seemed to belong to someone else. The disconnect between her own memories and these strange, new ones left her feeling disoriented and confused.

Sarah's gentle voice broke into Miranda's reverie, her words hesitant and laced with emotion. "I'm glad you're alive, at least one of us will get to live when everything is over." Miranda's gaze snapped back to Sarah, her eyes searching for answers.
