Chapter 12

Miranda lay on her bed, staring blankly at the ceiling as her mind wandered. She now instantly regretted not joining Princess Giovanna on her outing with Prince Kael. The silence and solitude of her room were suffocating, and she felt utterly bored with nothing to do.

Just as she was starting to drift into a dark reverie, a soft knock at the door broke the silence. Miranda's head jerked up, and she called out, "Come in!"

The door creaked open, and Agnes slipped inside, a concerned expression on her face. "Miranda, I hope I'm not disturbing you?" she asked, her voice soft and gentle.

Miranda immediately shook her head, patting the bed beside her in invitation. "No, not really. Actually, I'm bored, and I'm glad you're here," she said, smiling warmly at Agnes.

Agnes smiled back, walking over to the bed and sitting down beside Miranda. "You're bored? That's new," she said, raising an eyebrow. "I thought you left with the prince and princess."
