Chapter 11: The Hunt Begins

Ingrid's warning weighed heavily on Nathaniel as they left the café and walked through the narrow, cobblestone streets of Zurich. The air was cool, and the bustle of the city seemed worlds away from the dark secrets they now carried. The Black Sun conspiracy had deeper roots than he had imagined, and with every step, Nathaniel felt the burden of the discovery grow.

As they reached the safe house they had rented in a quiet district, Ingrid broke the silence. "We're not just dealing with remnants of the Third Reich. These people, whoever they are, have been operating in the shadows for years. They've had time to regroup, and now they're more dangerous than ever."

Tom glanced at Ingrid. "What do you suggest? We can't exactly walk into headquarters and hand over this file. We don't know who's compromised."

Ingrid nodded, her sharp eyes scanning their surroundings as they entered the building. "You're right. We have to be smarter than that. There are a few key figures who were tied to Black Sun after the war. If we find them, we might be able to uncover the full scope of the operation."

Nathaniel took a seat at the table, his mind churning. "Do you have names?"

Ingrid pulled out a notepad and began writing. "There were several high-ranking Nazi scientists who were deeply involved in the project. Many of them disappeared after the war—either taken in by other governments or vanishing entirely. But one name stands out."

She handed the note to Nathaniel. On it was the name: Dr. Heinrich Metzger.

"Metzger was one of the key architects of Project Black Sun," Ingrid explained. "He was obsessed with the occult and believed he could combine it with advanced physics to unlock… well, to put it simply, powers that defied the laws of nature. After the war, he went underground. Some say he fled to South America, others believe he's been hiding in Europe, continuing his research."

Nathaniel stared at the name, his stomach churning. "If Metzger is still alive, he's the key to this. We need to find him."

Ingrid nodded. "I've been tracking rumors of his whereabouts for years. Recently, I heard whispers that he's in Austria, operating out of a hidden facility in the Alps. It's heavily guarded, and only those with connections to the old Nazi networks know how to reach him."

Tom folded his arms. "Austria, huh? Sounds like a suicide mission."

Nathaniel smirked grimly. "When hasn't it been?"
