Girl Rebirth Project

Yang Tian's Adam's apple bobbed up and down as he gulped down the fresh blood from the bag. This was the blood bank in Wildcat City, his "paradise." Although he hated the idea of taking blood and flesh from humans or zombies, the world had already shattered his moral principles. Compared to directly attacking humans, these stored blood bags allowed him to hold onto some semblance of inner balance.

After finishing a bag, he struggled to his feet, wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, and walked towards the exit. In a distant skyscraper, the military had their eyes on him.

"Captain, is it him?" an excited soldier shouted, binoculars in hand.

Meanwhile, in the villa, Yang Tian and his companion Daphne were watching the scene outside.

"Yang, look at that zombie, it seems strange. I saw it running really fast earlier, unlike those usual mindless walkers!" Daphne said, peering through the gap in the curtains.

Yang Tian frowned slightly and glanced out the window. "Running fast all of a sudden? Maybe you saw it wrong. It doesn't look special to me."

"It really did!" Daphne insisted.

Yang Tian nodded, moving towards another window as a decision formed in his mind. He reassured her, "Wait here. I'll go check it out."

"Be careful!" Daphne said, her blue eyes filled with concern.

Yang Tian felt a warmth in his heart, but the scene seemed oddly out of place to him. He removed a wooden board, squeezed out of the window, and turned back with a smile, saying, "Don't worry. It's nowhere near my level." As he spoke, his aura turned fierce, a chilling hint in his grin.

Yang Tian approached the zombie, his voice carrying a sharp edge. "Hey, you—yes, you! Come here!"

The zombie let out a raspy growl as if responding, "Wh-what do you want..."

Yang Tian's eyes lit up. This one had thoughts? That meant it wasn't just a regular walker; it was a higher-level entity. Maybe there was a biocrystal in its brain! Yang Tian tested the waters, "I want to make a friend. How about we find a barbecue joint, grab a couple of beers, and some lamb skewers?"

The zombie's face seemed to sprout several big question marks as it looked confused. Suddenly, it sped up, distancing itself from Yang Tian in an instant—far faster than an average zombie.

The zombie roared, revealing its sharp claws, and rushed at Yang Tian. Yang Tian dodged to the side, grabbed the attacking claw, and deftly swung his dagger, severing the zombie's wrist in one swift motion. He smirked, "You're still too green."

Yang Tian's aura surged, releasing the pressure of a high-level zombie that enveloped the area. The zombie in front of him froze on the spot, and even those lower-level walkers further away trembled in fear. Yang Tian swung his dagger again, slashing across the zombie's neck with precision.

"Ding! Killed a junior zombie. Earned 10 points," the system announced.

Yang Tian looked down at the headless corpse, silently assessing it. "A junior zombie, stronger than regular walkers, but still below standard zombies." He picked up the severed head, sliced it open with his dagger, and found a green crystal inside.

"Item detected: Junior Brain Core. Consumable. Effect: Increases hidden attributes," the system noted. Without hesitation, Yang Tian swallowed the brain core, feeling a faint energy course through him. His speed seemed to improve, but just slightly.

He figured that these junior zombies only had brain cores, while the higher-level matriarchs had biocrystals. To upgrade himself, he needed to continue consuming these junior zombies.

Yang Tian casually tossed the bloodied head aside and looked back towards the villa. Through the curtain, he saw Daphne's blue eyes watching him. An idea suddenly came to mind—could she be modified?

Daphne was his companion, and once they returned to Los Angeles, her family situation would likely be grim. She might end up being his long-term ally in the future. Yang Tian murmured softly, "Girl Rebirth Project?" He stroked his chin and let out a complicated smile. "The name sounds a bit weird, but maybe, just maybe, it's exactly what I need."
