Death Agreement

"Stay calm! Don't move, just think about your original position and direction, try to back out of this church!" Kelly shouted, but just as she reacted, a chilling breeze swept past the back of her head.

She quickly turned, feeling a sharp pain on her face—an enormous fist shadow appeared right in front of her, too close for her to dodge.

Her arm blocked the attack, but the excruciating pain almost caused her to lose balance. She thought that with the advanced weapons and powerful firepower she had, she should be able to take down the zombie mother. But to her shock, it had such formidable close combat abilities.

"Damn it, the report on the pure white zombie mother's body we brought back earlier said it might have this power… How could I have missed it?" Kelly cursed inwardly, but she knew that her current predicament was caused by overconfidence. The team had seen the blood-red shadow earlier, but no one could have expected this zombie to have learned such skills.

A loud bang rang out as Kelly stepped back quickly, kicking out her leg, but she ended up kicking Yang Tian's arm instead. Yang Tian reacted swiftly, twisting her leg in his grip, his left hand holding her leg while his right reached for her head.

In an instant, Kelly drew her micro submachine gun from her waist and pulled the trigger.

The gunfire erupted, shells clattering to the ground. Kelly felt a sudden shift, and the zombie attacking her disappeared.

But before she could even process it, a powerful presence rushed at her from behind.

Without thinking, Kelly glanced back and saw a hand of immense strength gripping her wrist. The opponent skillfully twisted her arm, locking her in a hold, while the other hand quickly pulled out a knife and slashed backward at her.

Yang Tian's enhanced strength gave him a clear upper hand, easily overpowering Kelly. The knife, which had been aimed at him, was now pointed directly at Kelly's own neck.

"Glug." Kelly swallowed, the cold edge of the blade already drawing a bloodstain on her skin.

Yang Tian bent down, his tongue licking the blood on her cheek with a cruel smile. "Oh my God…" he muttered, almost instinctively tasting the blood.

Kelly's heart pounded, her chest heaving. The only thought left in her mind was: "This is it. I'm done for."

Yang Tian pressed her against the wall, his hand tightening around her throat. The suffocating pressure made it hard for Kelly to breathe.

"I don't want to kill you, but right now, we're enemies. I don't ask for much—just to survive. But you won't let me...," Yang Tian's deep voice echoed in her ear.

"You can talk?" Kelly stared in disbelief.

Before she could process this shocking revelation, a delicate hand landed on Yang Tian's arm.

Exhausted, Kelly barely lifted her head. All she could see was the soft, graceful hand. Then, a soft voice rang out, like a whisper from the sky: "You scared her."

Yang Tian coldly turned his head, glaring at the woman. "This is a fight to the death. If I let her go, she won't let me live."

"But..." Daphne began, seemingly wanting to argue, but was at a loss for words.

"You almost got killed by them just now… Oh, of course, it's my fault." Yang Tian sneered.

"She saved me... but I saved her too. We're even."

"Yang, what are you going to do with her?" Daphne asked softly, gazing at Kelly, who had stopped struggling.

"If she doesn't die, we'll have more trouble," Yang Tian muttered, looking at Kelly. "But even if she dies, we'll still have trouble."

Those words, like a spark, ignited the last flicker of hope in Kelly's heart.

"What happened to the hunting dog?" Yang Tian asked.

"The hunting dog? He was reassigned to another department. I don't know where he went," Kelly replied.

"Oh? Seems like he didn't get the punishment he deserved. Your organization is really dark," Yang Tian laughed disdainfully, recalling the confusion and frustration in the snow leopard's eyes as it died. He felt the snow leopard's final act of saving the hunting dog was pointless.

The room fell into silence as Yang Tian sank into his memories.

After a while, he snapped back to reality and noticed the fog around them was beginning to thin. "Hand over your gun, no objections?" he said.

Kelly raised an eyebrow, momentarily taken aback.

Yang Tian's voice was low and serious: "Where's your base?"

Kelly took a deep breath, her expression resolute. "I'm a mercenary. You can kill me, but I'll never betray my organization."

Yang Tian was stunned for a moment, narrowing his eyes, the gun now pressed against Kelly's forehead. A cold smile appeared on his lips. "You're not afraid of dying, huh?"
