Despite having kill a hollow and facing death head-on, I was not tired in the least because Emma's kiss and confession made my energies return to their greatest point. We both nodded and moved away from the door, which flew out not many seconds later, revealing all the peculiars who had remained locked inside the mansion.

"Brother!" – Claire said.

Quickly, Claire, the twins, and even Fiona walked over to Jacob and hugged him tightly.

"What has happened here?" – I asked.

Actually, I already know what happened, but not asking would be weird.

"When we came back, the others were being attacked by the Wights" - Millard said.

"We tried to shoot them down, but they had guns and threatened to kill us all if we didn't obey them" - Bronwyn said.

"That's why they locked us up here while they..." – Horace tried to say.

"Brother, they took Miss Peregrine!" – Claire said through tears.

Seeing tears coming out of her beautiful eyes, a fury I had never felt before, began to run through my body as if a river were overflowing.

"We have to rescue Miss Peregrine!" – Horace exclaimed.

"To begin with, I think we should all calm down" – I said.

"Calm down? In this situation?" – Enoch asked angrily.

"Yes, we should calm down and think" – I nodded.

"Jacob is right, besides... isn't there much time left for the restart?" – Emma asked.

Everyone was alarmed and nodded.

Everyone was silent for a few seconds.

"Listen, there is no time to lose because in a few minutes the German troops will arrive and destroy the orphanage, so grab your most precious belongings; Quick, we don't have much time!" – I exclaimed.

I don't know what time it was, but there wasn't much time left for the explosion to happen, at most, there were a few minutes left.

"Well, everyone can get something and we'll be here in exactly two minutes!" – Emma nodded.

Quickly, everyone entered the orphanage and collected a few things that they kept in a huge briefcase that Horace was carrying with difficulty.

Bronwyn, on the other hand, carried her brother in her arms, with nothing else; It seems that she considered him much more important to give her brother a proper burial than to collect any of her belongings.

We all wanted to say something else, but suddenly, we began to hear how the bombs hit the ground and numerous explosions were heard in the distance.

"Quick, let's go!" – Emma exclaimed.

We all nodded and ran away from the orphanage and when we were already out of the blast radius, we watched intently as the bomb fell from the sky and destroyed the orphanage completely. Its precious decorations were now burning, the rooms had been completely destroyed and the stone statues had broken and their chunks were scattered throughout what had been a beautiful garden that was now on fire.

"Our house..." – Olive said sadly.

Everyone looked at what was their home for dozens of years with a sadness on their faces, even Enoch looked quite sad. I did not live there for more than a day, but I also considered it my home and I felt sad when I saw how the bomb destroyed the orphanage completely.

"Let's bury Victor, he would have wanted it that way" – Bronwyn said suddenly.

Claire and Fiona were crying as they clung to me, sad that they had lost their home, while the twins clutched tightly at my shirt, probably crying behind those masks as well, seeing the home where you lived for years burn and destroyed... it must be very hard.

"Fine, let's do it" – Emma nodded.

With effort, we all dug a small grave, it wasn't too big, but it's all we could do with our current skills and to be honest, the reason why we managed to dig so much was because I turned the earth into mud with my peculiarity, making it very easy to dig into the ground.

Once excavated, Bronwyn placed her brother in the small grave that we managed to dig with effort and then began to bury his body with dry sand.

Once buried, we all clasp our hands, close our eyes, and bow down to his grave.

"I'm sorry I can't give you the burial you deserve, but once this is all over, I'll be back and we'll say goodbye in the best way possible" - Bronwyn said as tears fell from her beautiful eyes.

Seeing her like this, I approached her and hugged her tightly. Sensing my embrace, Bronwyn also hugged me as she sobbed with her face buried in my chest while everyone remained silent as they witnessed this scene.

The girls this time did not feel jealous when they saw them hugging, it wouldn't be fair to feel jealous at this moment, so they just stared at Victor's grave while paying their respects.

Everyone had already paid tribute to Victor and now there were very important things they had to do.

"Well, what do we do now?" - asked Horace.

"Isn't it clear? We must rescue Miss Peregrine" - Bronwyn said.

"That's right!" – Claire said.

"But there are too many Wights and all of them armed: How do you expect us alone to rescue Miss Peregrine?" - asked Enoch with a frown.

"We cannot leave Miss Peregrine with those people; when we faced the other Wight in the present, he told us that their plan was to catch as many Ymbrynes as they could find" – Emma said.

"That's right, we must rescue her. We don't know what they will want to do with the Ymbrynes, but we can't allow something like that!" – Bronwyn nodded.

"And how do you expect 12 kids to emerge victorious from a head-on fight with the Wights? I don't think that's possible" - Hugh said.

"We must try... we must try to rescue Miss Peregrine" – said Fiona.

I was thinking about what we should do, in the original story, Emma, Jacob and the others rescue Miss Peregrine from the Wights; I have no doubt about that, but the problem is this: What happened next? If there are more books, it is clear that it did not end there, but something else happened that I cannot remember because my memories are sealed.

"They went in the direction of the beach" – Claire said.

"That means they want to flee by boat" – Emma said.

"At least they haven't fled to the present, otherwise we couldn't do anything" - Millard said.

"We can be 3 days out of the loop; we would have gone anyway" – said Bronwyn.

"Okay, let's suppose we get to the beach and see them: How are we going to catch up with a ship that is sailing on the high seas?" – Hugh asked.

"Leave that to me" – said Olive.

"However, first we have to check if they have really set sail or have not yet. Let's pray that it will be the last thing" – I said.

I remember that in the movie, the ship was already sailing and Jacob and the others had to catch up with it and intercept it, but in the books it's different.

"Okay, let's go to the beach then" – Emma nodded.

Enoch seemed to want to say something, but since I already knew what he was going to say, I went ahead of his words.

"When we arrive and locate them, we will draw up a plan, for the moment we have to know where they are, however, I advise you all to move forward in silence, we do not want to attract their attention" – I said.

Everyone nodded and we quickly headed to the beach, ready to rescue Miss Peregrine.
