Have a good day :)

...

We didn't have time to react because the moment they caught Miss Avocet, they closed the hatch and dived again, without even paying attention to us; as if we were air.

"Miss Avocet has been taken" – Emma said frowning.

The objective of this mission was not only to rescue Miss Peregrine, but also Miss Avocet, who had been trapped by the wights along with Miss Peregrine, however, in the end we could only rescue Miss Peregrine, while Miss Avocet was captured by the wights and we could not get her back.

"Yes, but at least we've rescued Miss Peregrine, she'll know what to do next..." – I nodded.

Then I looked in the direction of the cage where Miss Peregrine should have been trapped there. I wanted to free her to tell us what to do next, however, when I looked at her cage...

"She's not there" - I said.

"What are you saying?" – Emma asked without understanding.

"Miss Peregrine's cage is open, but she is not there" – I said.

The cage was open, but Miss Peregrine wasn't inside, all there was was an empty cage.

"But I don't understand... where is she?" – Emma said stunned.

She couldn't comprehend what was going on, she was sure that Miss Peregrine had been rescued, she had seen it with her own eyes, but then... where was she?

"For the moment we must inform everyone" – I said.

Still stunned, Emma nodded and we both went with the others and it was not difficult to find them because the helm room was adjoining where they locked us, Miss Peregrine and Miss Avocet.

"Brother!" – Claire said.

"Jacob" – Fiona said.

The two of them, along with the twins and Bronwyn, came to hug me and check my body for wounds while asking about my current state and if I had hurt myself and things like that, while Olive seemed to hesitate whether or not she should do it.

"Can you flirt later? Where is Miss Peregrine? Have you rescued her?" – Enoch asked.

"More or less" – I said.

"What do you mean by that?" – Millard asked confused.

"We did indeed rescue her and now Golan is dead. There is no doubt about that" – I said.

"I'm glad everything went well, but... I don't see Miss Peregrine anywhere" – Horace said.

"After defeating that wight, we found out that Miss Peregrine's cage was open and she was no longer inside" - Emma said.

"What?" – Hugh exclaimed in surprise.

"You mean she's gone?" asked Bronwyn.

"Impossible! Miss Peregrine would never leave us alone!" – Claire exclaimed.

Fiona and the twins nodded as they clung to me.

"So they have captured her?" – Olive asked.

"No, we saw how they caught Miss Avocet and how Golan fell into the water after receiving one of my blows and I assure you that Miss Peregrine was not caught by them" – I denied.

"Then where is she?" – Enoch asked.

"I have no idea" – I denied.

"Great, now we are worse off than at the beginning. Our loop is completely destroyed and our Ymbryne is missing. What are we supposed to do now?" – Enoch said angrily.

Yes... the situation didn't look good, we were lost and didn't know what to do, Miss Peregrine had disappeared for some reason and Miss Avocet had been captured by the wights, so now we were alone in a huge boat and adrift at sea.

Great, now I have to save the world of the peculiars, otherwise we will all die, including me, however, it has given me an idea about what we should do next.

"I propose that we go and look for Miss Peregrine" - I said suddenly.

"Yes! I support the idea!" – Claire nodded.

All the girls and even the boys seemed to support my decision, however...

"Very good idea, Jacob, but there is a small problem. Where should we start looking?" - asked Enoch.

A very important problem because thanks to my sealed memories, the only thing I remember is that the first thing we should do is go to the coast.

"How about we look for other loops and ask to other Ymbrynes?" – Olive suggested.

"You've already heard the wights, the wights are kidnapping the Ymbrynes for some macabre plan and in case we manage to find a loop... Who can say us they haven't already kidnapped their Ymbrynes?" – Millard asked.

"Olive is right, we have to try to find other loops. Only another Ymbryne can know what another Ymbryne may be thinking about" – Emma nodded.

"It's a stupid idea! How is it possible that another Ymbryne is able to know what is in the mind of another Ymbryne?" – Enoch exclaimed.

"I support Emma and Olive; Or maybe you have a better idea?" – I asked.

Enoch could be a little more positive and contribute some ideas, because so far, all but him have proposed plans instead of complaining about everything.

"No..." – Enoch denied.

"Well, it's already decided, we'll go find other loops to ask other Ymbryne what may have happened to Miss Peregrine" - said Olive.

"Yes!" – everyone said (except Enoch).

"Guys, I know it's selfish of me, but... could we go back to Cairnholm? I need to go back to the present and say all to my father" – I said.

I don't know when I will be able to return, or even if I will be able to return to the present again, so at least my father deserves a proper explanation, so that he knows where I will go and that I will be fine wherever I go.

"Do you want us to turn around and go to Cairnholm again just to explain to your father where you're going? We can't waste so much time" – Enoch denied.

"No, we will go. Our loop is about to close now that Miss Peregrine is not here so before that happens, Jacob can tell his father the truth. He deserves and explanation, it's his family after all" – Emma said.

"That's right, his father deserves to know the truth and after all Jacob has done for us... we cannot deny his request" – Olive agreed.

"I support my brother!" – Claire nodded.

The twins nodded as well.

"Me too..." – Fiona nodded.

"It's not fair... most of you are his lovers, we are at a numerical disadvantage" – Enoch said.

"I'm not his partner and I think Jacob's father deserves to know the truth" - Hugh nodded.

"I think the same, besides, if I were in his place, I would also want to say goodbye to my father" – Horace nodded.

"And so do I" - Millard nodded (or so I think).

"Okay, it's okay, do what you want" – Enoch said.

But inside he also agreed, only that he was not able to express his true feelings. He was what in Japanese we would call a "Tsundere". This term will clarify the doubts of many.

"Thank you all" – I said gratefully.

This was not planned at first. My plans were completely different, but somehow everything went wrong and now we are in this situation. Of course, as his family, I cannot abandon the peculiars to their fate, but at least, my father deserves to know the truth. After that, he will tell my mother and at least they will know that I am alive and well, or at least that's what I hope will happen; Lately none of my plans have gone as I expected.

Anyway, we were about 20 minutes from Cairnholm and surprisingly, Fiona had learned to handle the ship and was able to get us to Cairnholm in 20 minutes.

"Do you want us to accompany you?" – Fiona asked curiously.

We were already on dry land, with the anchor down so that the ship would not move due to the waves. In the distance, German planes could no longer be seen flying over the area, so the bombardment was over and there was no danger of being bombed by the Germans and since the people of Cairnholm are busy... I don't think anyone notices the huge ship near the beach

"No need, I will be back in less than an hour. I will simply explain my situation to him and come back; whether he understand it or not" – I said.

It doesn't matter if my father understands what I'm going to do or not, I have to go back no matter his reaction is.

"Okay, we'll wait for you here" – Fiona said.

However, and without Jacob noticing, Fiona looked at the rest of the girls who nodded as if they understood Fiona's intentions without needing her to say a single word.

"Thank you, I'll be back as soon as possible" – I said.

Then, I ran to the loop and went through it. According to Emma, there are 6 hours left (more or less), before the loop closes forever and no one can get back in or out of it, so I have plenty of time to explain to my father what's going on and come back. I reckon it won't take me more than an hour to explain everything to him, so I have 5 hours to spare.

With that said, I went through the loop and headed straight towards the hotel. Since I have no idea where my father may be, this is the only place I can look, besides, it was early in the morning and he may be sleeping. He probrably think that all the things that happen to him yesterday was a mere dream.

I arrived at the hotel quickly and without thinking for a second, I opened the door to my father's room and there he was, under the dim light of the candles, sitting on the bed, looking at what appeared to be a photo.

"Jacob?" – my father said in surprise.

The time had come.
