Chapter 250

Here, many outsiders live.

They don't resist foreign stars, either.

The Nirvana Conference happens every three years.

For some stars, being able to participate in the opening ceremony of the Nirvana Conference is a great honor.

Some people are willing to attend even without a commission.

Because this, in itself, is a huge platform.

After coming, their value skyrockets. (t/N Is this... Is this "we'll pay you with exposure" ? damn)

Ron ignored the others and focused on the crystal ball.

At this time, the crystal ball was greedily absorbing the characteristics of Nen, like starlight being drawn in. Then, it entered the crystal ball, bit by bit, accumulating progress.

"Big brother, why are you glowing?"

The sudden voice caught Ron's attention.

Ron turned back when he heard the voice.

A little girl with long white hair, a small ponytail on top of her head, and big curious eyes was staring at Ron.

Next to her, a woman who seemed to be her mother was completely engrossed in the opening performance, not noticing the little girl's actions or Ron.

"Glowing?"

Ron thought for a moment.

The aura of Nen can generally only be seen by those who have mastered Gyo.

But there are exceptions.

In the original storyline, Machi from the Phantom Troupe saw the unique aura of a Nen user before learning Nen. This is a talent.

It represents an innate gift.

And people with such talent are naturally suited to become Nen users.

"Zetsu!"

Ron smiled at the little girl.

"Now?"

"Gone."

The little girl shook her head, looking puzzled.

Ron stopped using Zetsu.

The little girl's eyes lit up again.

"There it is!"

"Big brother, you're amazing!"

"How did you do that? Can you teach me?"

Ron didn't agree, but instead asked.

"What's your name?"

"Miste."

"I'm Ron, nice to meet you. Do you want to learn this glowing ability?"

"Mm-hmm."

The little girl looked very eager.

"But I can't teach you for free, Miste. What can you give me in return?"

Miste tilted her head, thinking hard before answering.

"Big brother, how about this: when I grow up, I'll follow you forever!"

Ron's expression froze for a moment.

"...What?"

Miste explained further: "Mother says I should do what she says to secure a better life. She said that if I follow a man, I'll have value."

Ron's gaze softened as he glanced at the woman beside her, his suspicions confirmed.

"Miste, is that really what your mother told you?"

"Yes! She says that's the best thing I can do."

Ron was silent for a moment, contemplating.

A child with such remarkable talent, needing only the right guidance—why not help her?

It was clear that Miste's current environment wasn't good for her, and she deserved a chance to thrive in better circumstances.

"Chii!"

Ron had a thought, and Chii appeared, holding a modified phone connected to the internet, starting to search for information on Miste.

"Miste, can you tell me your mother's name?"

"Also, where are you from?"

"Who else is in your family?"

Miste, without much caution, revealed everything.

"My mother's name is Winter."

"I'm from the United Republic of Sahelta."

"Besides my mother, I have some younger siblings. I used to have older siblings, but they disappeared."

"This time, my mother plans to sell me for a good price."

Miste glanced at the woman beside her.

Ron's eyes narrowed.

This wasn't just a lack of caution but seemed overly familiar with revealing her information, as if specially trained.

"Many older siblings, younger siblings?"

Ron's eyes tightened.

No other elders besides the mother, but many older and younger siblings.

This was clearly abnormal.

How could a single woman have so many children?

"Most likely, these children were abducted."

"They abduct these children, raise them for a while, then sell them when the time is right, turning them into high-quality commodities for huge profits."

Ron disliked human trafficking.

However, he knew it was inevitable in this world.

The elders of Meteor City, Underworld mafias, and even the Zoldyck family were all involved.

Chii soon found a lot of information.

First, the United Republic of Sahelta.

One of the V5.

Unlike the feudal-structured Fiore Kingdom, the United Republic of Sahelta was shaped by its immigrant origins, resulting in a much more complex and sometimes chaotic society. The original inhabitants had long faded into history, leaving behind remnants of their legacy.

Now, Sahelta was home to people from countless nations—different cultures, races, and traditions mixed together. While this diversity brought vibrancy and opportunity, it also created challenges in uniting such a varied population under one banner.

However still, in the V5 the United Republic of Sahelta could be considered the most powerful overall.

Politically, economically, and militarily, it was strong.

If the United Republic of Sahelta had no internal issues, it might dominate the entire human continent.

In reality, the United Republic of Sahelta was the strongest among the V5.

But its people on average had worse living conditions than those in other V5 countries.

Not everyone, though.

The lower and middle classes lived worse.

The elites, of course, lived very well.

The wealth gap in the United Republic of Sahelta was vast, and the crime rate was high.

"Hmm?"

Regarding Winter, Chii found nothing.

Clearly, it was a fake name.

Ron hesitated, then called Silva, far away near Heaven's Arena.

He lowered his voice, mixing it to be unrecognizable.

Even those nearby couldn't hear it.

But Silva on the other end could.

"Uncle Silva."

"Ron, Is there something you need?"

Ron briefly described the situation.

"Uncle Silva, I met a little girl with high talent. She could see my aura without knowing Nen."

"From what the girl said, I suspect the woman is from a human trafficking organization."

"If I want to buy the girl, how should I proceed?"

Ron initially planned to ask the woman directly.

But after thinking, he decided to consult Silva first.

Even for a "bargain," he didn't want to be cheated.

The other party might exploit Ron's youth and demand a high price.

Or even make some underhanded move. (t/N: why not... just call the cops?)

"Can you show me her photo?"

"Sure."

Chii glanced at the woman. Just a look was enough to record her appearance, then edit it into a picture and send it to Silva via email.

Soon, Silva called back.

"Uncle Silva."

"Ron, I don't know this person, but I recognize the mark on her. It's a medium-sized human trafficking organization with unique features."

Silva said, "Usually, human trafficking organizations use two methods: buying and selling."

Human trafficking organizations buy children from certain people and sell them to others.

For example, from poor areas with many children.

Or from places like Meteor City.

From an ethical standpoint, it's certainly not right.
