Chapter 322

A young man reached out to grab Kurapika.

Already in a terrible mood from his clan's destruction, Kurapika found himself harassed by these two punks. Furious, his eyes turned scarlet.

Bang!

Kurapika punched one of them hard. The thug yelped, face twisting in pain.

"You little brat, you dare fight back?!"

Both youths ganged up on Kurapika. By age and numbers, they had the advantage, yet Kurapika held the upper hand in reality.

First, he had the Scarlet Eyes, and second, he did at least have some training. The two youths, on the other hand, were nothing but loafers who'd wasted themselves on booze and cheap thrills.

Before long, Kurapika knocked both of them to the ground. But he didn't stop there; rage consumed him, and he continued to pound them.

Bang!

Bang!

Bang!

Punch after punch, until the pair fell utterly still and Kurapika's fists were dripping with blood.

"Trash!"

He spat at them, glaring, then turned to leave. But after a brief hesitation, he came back and rifled through their pockets, taking whatever valuables they had before finally leaving town.

Kurapika failed to notice that someone else was watching from the shadows: a lanky middle-aged man giving off a distinct Nen aura.

But Kurapika had no idea this man existed, and he was far too weak right now to stand a chance against such an opponent.

Ron hesitated a moment.

"Fine. Whether or not it's my business, I've gained a lot from the Kurta Clan. That last one percent of Observer's Intention needs Kurapika's presence, so let's remove this problem."

Just as the skinny man was about to pounce, Ron flicked his wrist.

Shu!

A single Nen needle shot into the man at high speed, hitting a vital spot. The Crystal Featherbone's deadly toxin spread at once. Although he was a Nen user, he wasn't strong enough to resist such poison.

Thud!

He collapsed instantly. Kurapika noticed nothing, continuing on his way, still tailed at a distance by Ron.

Two days passed.

Kurapika finally entered a large city, and at that moment, the indicator on Ron's crystal orb reached 100%.

At once, Ron opened a door to Sumas's space and stepped inside to the blank zone.

"Sumas is so convenient.

Before, when I created a new Nen beast, I had to sink all my aura into it and concentrate fully. If danger showed up, I'd be in real trouble. Now I can just hide inside Sumas. Nobody can reach me here."

Ron sat down and shut his eyes.

"Let's begin."

In a flash, he felt his aura gushing into the crystal orb at incredible speed. It was just like before—color shifting, energy surging.

Bang!

A resonant boom rang out in his mind, and Ron's consciousness slipped into another space. Illusory figures floated before him:

- A black-haired teen with a wild grin.

- A lone-eyed youth with a gloomy stare.

- A short-haired girl with glasses.

- An obese cat seated atop a high perch.

- A long-haired man in red armor.

Then, each figure merged into the crystal orb.

Boom!

An explosive sound reverberated, and Ron felt his consciousness snap back. Soon after, he opened his eyes.

With a mere thought, a new silhouette stood before him:

A young man with short black hair, wearing a gray short-sleeved top and dark ninja pants, a purple rope tied around his waist. A grim, almost brooding aura emanated from him.

A name flickered in Ron's mind: Uchiha Sasuke.

Ron wasn't surprised.

After all, the similarities between the Kurta Clan and the Uchiha were obvious—both had powerful red eyes, both had been nearly wiped out, both left survivors possessing enhanced ocular abilities.

He gave another mental command:

Hanma Baki, Natsu, Killer Queen, Lampent—all appeared. Ron allocated his aura evenly among them, and immediately noticed that Sasuke's aura strength surpassed even Hanma Baki's and Killer Queen's.

The overall power of Ron's Nen beasts depends on three factors:

1. How much aura Ron invests in them.

2. The "backstory" or "lore" behind the beast (his mental imagery).

3. The traits absorbed from the relevant places or events.

Here, Ron had distributed his aura equally to each, so the difference must lie in the second and third factors.

He knew the Fiola Kingdom had contributed larger traits than the Zoldyck Estate, and the Zoldyck Estate more than Heaven's Arena. The Kurta Clan should rank no higher than the Zoldyck Estate.

Yet somehow Sasuke was on another level, possibly because:

- The Scarlet Eyes (a disease from the Dark Continent) might exceed the power of the Zoldyck Estate's traits,

- Or maybe Sumas's influence added to it,

- Or some combination of factors.

Regardless, it was good news. Ron hadn't expected an especially powerful beast from the Kurta traits, but it turned out to be a major gain.

He'd already combined Natsu and Akutagawa, pushing that beast's potential much higher. Now, upon creating this new Sasuke-type Nen beast, the haul from the Kurta Clan was proving immense indeed.
