"Step away from them," Alpha Kade's voice boomed as he carefully dismounted his horse.

Austin rolled his eyes and mumbled. "We're supposed to be going somewhere, remember?" At once he hopped off his horse and dashed off towards Artemis. Artemis smirked, and with a flicker of her eyes, Austin flew across, slamming against a tree, causing its leaves to fall off.

Alpha Kade drew out his sword, ready to retaliate, when Artemis' eyes flickered reddish. "Enough!" she said in a commanding voice that made Alpha Kade halt in his tracks. Around her, Alpha Darius and his betas were released from her sorcery, while at the farthest end, Austin arched his back in pain.

"What do you want? To finish what your fellow firebreather princess couldn't?" Alpha Kade asked boldly as he took a cautious step forward, his eyes passing a signal to Alpha Darius, who was behind her. "You should know she's not in good shape. You're not going to be in when we're done with you."
