DAISY JOYCE
The soft morning light peeked through the curtains as a maid gently woke me from my sleep. Roused but still sleepy, I jumped into the bath. Just as I was getting ready, I saw Assistant Moore walking purposefully toward the garage. I quickly rushed down the stairs to catch up with him.
"But, Sir Moore," I exclaimed, a hint of worry in my voice, "it's way too early to leave! I haven't even had breakfast yet!"
"It was supposed to be delayed," he replied calmly, "but the young master's sister is visiting today. We need everything to be perfect to avoid raising any suspicions."
I understood the urgency but felt totally unprepared for the day ahead. With a resigned sigh, I said, "Alright, let's get going."
As we drove, we made a quick stop at a shop called Sim Slot, where Moore helped me get a new phone SIM card. Then we went to a phone store, and I was amazed by all the different devices available.
After what felt like ages of deciding, Moore handed me a shiny new iPhone 16 Pro. It was such a leap from the old phones my parents had used, and I felt a wave of anxiety wash over me.
"This is the latest model," he said, showing me how it worked. Although I had heard about iPhones, the design was so different from what I was used to.
But after a bit of practice, my nerves calmed down, and I felt a surge of happiness as I learned to use the new phone, downloading apps and taking lots of selfies. It was a little joy that brightened my day.
By the time we reached the mall, the manager welcomed us warmly. I eagerly picked a few things I hoped would fit within the generous allowance Damond had given me. "That won't be nearly enough," Moore teased, but I remained cautious.
"But I need to save some for later!" I argued.
"Collect the most beautiful bags and clothes," he told one of the staff members, watching as I gasped in disbelief. "I can't buy all this! Can we return some?"
He chuckled and added a bunch of makeup and skincare products to our growing pile.
"You deserve to treat yourself," he said kindly. I felt a mix of excitement and overwhelm. Maybe it was time for me to indulge a little.

As I settled into my office, deep in a meeting with clients, my sister's unexpected call interrupted me.
"Hello, brother! I'll be at your place in an hour. I hope your wife is at home; I can't wait to see her!" Her cheerful voice was full of excitement.
"Yes, she is," I replied, trying to sound calm as I lied, "but she's just resting."
"Great! I'll see you soon!" she said before hanging up. I quickly called my assistant, feeling anxious to get everything ready before her arrival.

As we wrapped up our shopping, Moore's phone buzzed.
"Hello, boss! We're done shopping and heading your way," he said, letting the bodyguards know to help load our purchases into the car.
On our way home, my mind raced with thoughts about how to present myself to Damond's sister. What if I messed up?
Feeling anxious, I searched online for tips on how a wife should behave around family. Just the thought of hugging and kissing Damond in front of his sister made my heart race. Was I really ready for this?
I reassured myself that I could handle it, especially since I'd be rewarded for my efforts. Just a little display of affection shouldn't be too hard, right?
"Oh, and Sir Moore," I remembered, "I'd like to open a bank account."
"Maybe another time," he replied gently, "We don't have much time; his sister will be here any moment."
"Okay," I murmured, feeling disappointed but understanding the urgency.
We pulled into the driveway just in time, and I took a moment to freshen up. The maids were busy organizing my closet while I picked up my new phone to practice some of its features. Suddenly, a voice came from downstairs, "I'm home, sister-in-law!"
Panic hit me, and I jumped out of bed, my heart racing. This was all so new, and my lack of experience gnawed at me.
But as I took a deep breath to calm my nerves, a sense of determination grew within me. I could do this. With another steadying breath, I stepped out of my room, ready to greet her with a smile, no matter how anxious I felt.
