Chapter 6:Sorrow and Excitement

 DAMOND CHRIS

 FLASHBACK

I joined the mafias to bolster my influence and proactively counter those who threaten our company, striking first with determination and strategy, although being in the mafia is dirty, I did a dirty job and even killed the innocent, though it may seem challenging, it's a risk I'm willing to take because I truly believe the rewards will be worth it, and I will be killed one day as a representation of atoning my sin, I chose the ruthless way slaying those who see me in the process of getting my illegal stuff done.

 PRESENT

My phone rang once again, "Underground Boss, we've got one of the guys responsible for the accident in our clutches," one of my men reported, his voice edged with urgency. "But he's tough – he's not giving up any information.", make sure you break one of his legs and his right hand before I arrived, I spoke in an angry, commanding tone, 'Yes, sir,' he replied.

"Moore get the car ready now", I set off on my way to the underground basement where the illegal stuff is done, I've come to confront one of the men connected to the incident that cost me my eye. It's time to face the past and seek the truth.

I wasn't born without sight, but my history is enveloped in shadows—filled with decisions and actions that have driven people away from me. Even if the substitute knew only a small part of my past, she would still likely struggle to uphold our agreement. To ensure my future is secure, I have made it my goal to silence anyone who dares to suggest they know my secrets. This is my method of shielding myself from the repercussions of my past.

"I always had this strong belief that one day I would become wealthy. I just had this feeling deep down—it's happening, and I can see it starting to come together right before my eyes."

"I'm imagining my first steps: opening a bank account, filling it with money, and starting my own business. This has been my dream for so long."

"But I think it's best to start small and quietly, without drawing attention to myself. I've been through a lot without anyone noticing, and I'm determined to create something on my own, in my way. Starting a business feels like the right path, and I know I can handle it alone."

"As the time to end my current situation approaches, I remind myself that time is crucial. In the business world, acting quickly is essential."

I wondered, "Is Damond around?" I stepped out of my room only to find his office empty. Then, I met a kind, middle-aged woman bustling around in the kitchen. She looked up, and I took the chance to ask about him.

"Excuse me, "Sir", is Damond here?"

She laughed softly. "No need for 'Sir,' you're a couple! I'm Mama Cate, by the way. Damond stepped out a little while ago. He sometimes goes to his penthouse after work. Is everything okay?"

I quickly responded, "Oh, it's fine." Just then, I felt a loud growl from my stomach.

Her smile lit up the room as she said, "Don't worry, the food will be ready soon. I figured you'd be hungry!"

"Are you going to say something, or should I make your whole generation vanish"?

"What do you mean by something I don't understand?" he asked, struggling to speak as he spat out blood. "Did you want me to repeat myself over and over?" I replied.

"I don't know anything about what you're asking me! This is an attack, and you should be the one arrested!" he shouted back.

Wow, that's great! I don't play games where I lose; instead, I play to make sure the loss is for others. I always come out on top! , Boy chop off his body and dump him in the canal".

"I want to talk, please. I'll admit it," he said, tears streaming down his face. "I don't want your lies. Even if you had told the truth before, I would have reacted the same way."

"I'm not going to let you off the hook. No way, you can just go to hell," I replied with a smirk. The guys kept digging into the situation while Moore stepped back.

"Home?" he asked. "You really want to go home?" "I'm not sure," I replied. "It'll be quicker than I thought." "I understand," he said. "Now, let's head to the penthouse."

"I'm drenched in blood". The foolish goat wasted my time, and now everyone will have to answer for what they've done. Just as I was about to voice my frustration, someone chimed in, "Boss, your phone is ringing." He handed my phone to me, and I braced myself for the inevitable.

"Hello, Mama Cate." Then, I heard another voice on the line say, "No, it's not Mama Cate. I borrowed her phone to call you." Hearing this voice made me angry. I had clearly said that if she needed anything, she should talk to my assistant, Moore. At that moment, I realized that my assistant was actually with me. I rested my forehead on my hand and said, "Okay, go ahead and speak."

"Okay, sir, I need a phone because I don't have one right now," she said. "He'll get one for you tomorrow," came the reply. "Who will?" she asked, but before she could finish her words, I hung up. What a sad situation for someone so focused on material things.
