Work

In Luna's house

The next morning, Luna was ready for work at 8am, wearing a short skirt, a black top, and carrying a black bag. She walked down the hall to her mother's room and knocked on the door.

Her mother, groggy and still half asleep, opened the door. "Hey baby girl," she said with a yawn. "What's got you up so early?"

"Good morning, Mom," Luna replied with a smile. "Sorry to wake you, but I wanted know if you are going to see Daniel today."

"Oh, don't worry about visiting Daniel today," Luna's mother replied. "I'll take care of that. I'm going grocery shopping and I want to tidy up the guest room for him. Remember, he'll be coming home with us after he's discharged from the hospital."

Luna nodded. "Thanks, Mom. And I'll give you some money later today, after I receive my pay."

"That's very generous of you, Luna," her mother said with a smile.

"Well, I better head off to breakfast now," Luna replied.

Luna sat down for breakfast, enjoying a delicious meal of chicken waffle, avocado toast, and tea. After finishing her meal, she quickly rushed out of the house and hailed a cab, a necessary expense due to her bicycle being stolen after the incident.

The cab pulled up, and Luna hopped in, giving the driver directions to her workplace. As the car sped off, Luna couldn't help but think about Daniel.

The cab pulled up outside the Red Lovers Restaurant, the biggest and most popular restaurant in Country X. The restaurant stood out among the various entertainment centers, its red and gold colors catching the light in a way that made it almost impossible to miss.

Luna stepped out of the cab, inhaling the scent of spices and sauces that permeated the air around the restaurant. The restaurant was renowned not only for its mouth-watering dishes, but also for its esteemed chef training program, which had produced many of the country's top culinary talents, including Luna buy she is still an upcomer.

Luna entered the restaurant, the clatter of pots and pans and the sizzle of food adding a symphony of sounds to the already vibrant scene. As she navigated through the tables, she spotted her friend Anna busily cleaning a table. She wanted to call Anna to say hi, but she remembered the restaurant no friend in the business policy. She hold back.

The restaurant's interior was designed to be both elegant and welcoming, the warm colors of the walls and furniture providing a stark contrast to the sleek, modern lines of the bar and kitchen area. As Luna made her way towards the back, she noticed several other familiar faces among the staff, all preparing for another busy day of serving mouth-watering dishes to their patrons.

As Luna greeted her colleagues, they returned her greeting with cheerful hellos, filling the air with a sense of camaraderie. She made her way to the dressing room to change into her chef uniform before heading to her assigned cooking station. She took a moment to review the menu for the day, mentally preparing herself for the rush of orders to come.

In the hospital, Daniel room.

Meanwhile, in Daniel's hospital room, he stirred awake, stretching his arms and blinking the sleep from his eyes. Realizing his water had run out, he reached for the call button and a nurse soon appeared at his bedside.

"Good morning, Daniel," the nurse said with a friendly smile. "How can I help you?"

"Good morning, Nurse," Daniel replied, his voice still groggy from sleep. "I seem to have run out of water. Would you mind refilling my pitcher?"

The nurse nodded and quickly went to fetch a pitcher of cold water from the staff room. When she returned, she set it on Daniel's bedside table and asked, "How are you feeling today? Are you having any discomfort or pain?"

Daniel smiled gratefully and took a sip of the water.

"Thanks for that, Nurse," Daniel said, his smile still in place. "And I'm actually feeling quite well today. I slept pretty well last night."

"That's wonderful to hear," the nurse replied, visibly pleased. "If you continue to make such good progress, the doctor might consider releasing you in a few days."

Daniel's eyebrows shot up in surprise. "Really? That's great news! I'm getting pretty tired of these hospital walls," he joked.

The nurse laughed and nodded. "Yes, I can imagine you're eager to get out of the hospital.

"Oh, and I'm also pretty hungry this morning," Daniel added, rubbing his stomach.

The nurse nodded with a smile. "I can take care of that, too. I'll go fetch you something from the canteen. Would you like the usual porridge and toast or something more substantial?"

Daniel pondered for a moment, his mouth watering at the thought of real food. "Hmm, I think I'm in the mood for some eggs and bacon this morning. A bit of indulgence never hurt anyone, right?" he said with a playful grin.

Being friends with the hospital nurse never hurts.

"You've got that right!" the nurse laughed. "I'll make sure to add some extra bacon for you. After all, you deserve it after all you've been through."

As the nurse turned to leave, Daniel called out, "Oh, and if you could please check when the doctor will be making his rounds today, I'd appreciate it. I have some questions I'd like to ask him."

"Of course, I'll ask the charge nurse for his schedule," the nurse promised. "We'll make sure you get the answers you need."

After a satisfying breakfast, Daniel settled back into bed and drifted off to sleep, content with the thought of being closer to recovery.

Back in the restaurant

Meanwhile, Luna was hard at work in the bustling kitchen of the Red Lovers Restaurant. After finishing the first round of cooking, she was informed that the manager wanted to see her.

"Why does the manager want to see me?" she asked her colleagues, a hint of confusion in her voice.

"Oh, we don't know," one of the other chefs replied with a shrug. "Just go and ask him yourself. He's in his office."

Luna nodded, setting down her spatula and making her way towards the manager's office. As she approached, her mind raced with possibilities of what he might want to discuss. She knocked on the door and waited for his response.

"Come in," the manager called out.

Luna opened the door and stepped into the office, the sound of her shoes clicking against the tiled floor as she approached his desk.

"You wanted to see me, Mr. Park?" Luna asked, a polite smile on her lips.

Mr. Park, a man of middle age with a stoic expression, glanced up from his papers and gestured for Luna to take a seat. "Yes, Miss Luna," he said, his voice carrying a hint of formality. "I wanted to discuss your progress here at the Red Lovers Restaurant."

Luna sat down and clasped her hands in her lap, her expression serious. "Of course, Mr. Park. What would you like to discuss?"

Mr. Park leaned forward, his hands steepled together.

"Miss Luna, I've noticed that your cooking has really improved over the past few months. In fact, I've been considering promoting you to the position of junior sous chef," Mr. Park said, his tone measured and thoughtful.

Luna's eyes widened in surprise, her heart racing. "That's...that's incredible, Mr. Park," she stammered, the possibility of a promotion almost too good to be true. "I'm honored that you would even consider me for such a position."

Mr. Park offered a small, but sincere smile. "Your dedication and talent have not gone unnoticed, Miss Luna. If you continue on this path, I have no doubt you'll be one of the best chefs in the city."

Luna felt a swell of pride in her chest, and her smile widened. "Thank you for your confidence in me, Mr. Park. I won't let you down. I promise."

Mr. Park nodded. "Excellent. Now, the promotion won't be official for another month or so. I'd like to see how you handle the increased responsibilities first.

"Of course, Mr. Park," Luna replied, the excitement still bubbling within her. "I'll work twice as hard to prove myself worthy of this opportunity."

Mr. Park stood, signaling the end of the conversation. "Very good. Now, back to work with you. And remember, you haven't officially been promoted yet, so I don't want to hear any gossip about this."

Luna nodded, rising from her seat. "You have my word, Mr. Park. Thank you for considering me."

With a renewed sense of purpose and a smile on her face, Luna left Mr. Park's office, feeling hopeful and motivated by the chance to improve her skills and advance her career.

"This is an opportunity I won't squander," Luna thought to herself, as she made her way back to the kitchen. "I'll prove to Mr. Park, and everyone else, that I'm worthy of this promotion."
