06. Date with Eve

Opportunity had finally come to Nathan's doorstep, in the form of the system he now possessed.

The opportunity to rise back to where he truly belonged and take back everything that was once his.

Nathan Cross made himself a promise not to let this chance pass him by.

However, he had to start from somewhere and small too.

For the short time he had this system, Nathan had understood some things about this unique gift of his.

'I have to spend on women that I'm interested in to get the 10x benefits of the system. And the bond thingy shows the chance of intimacy between me and a harem member, I actually thought it was the closeness of friendship.'

Nathan laughed at himself for thinking this way.

With Dahlia's bond being at 40%, it only meant that she liked him too and just more than friends.

Now that the system had made this obvious to him, he was beginning to see the sign clearly.

'May be she pulled back because I was dating Eve.'

Nathan was open to all the prospects and progress in his relationship with Dahlia.

He was ready and willing to see how far and deep it would go.

Asides that, he also wanted to get his money up and that was where Eve came in.

Eve was going to be the lab rat for him to learn the maze of this system – what works and what does not work.

Eve was going to be the cadaver he would dissect to learn everything he would need thing.

As for how things would end with her eventually… Nathan had not thought that far.

But one thing was sure, he knew it would end.

Even more so if he confirms whether he could remove people from his harem.

While in thought, he heard a ding – the sound of his notification – reach his ear.

Glancing to his side, he looked at his phone and then picked it up.

It was Eve's reply.

Instinctively, Nathan took a peek at the time and there was still over two hours to the time when he was supposed to meet Eve.

Nathan sighed.

He couldn't help but feel a gross distaste and nausea as he read the message that Eve sent him.

How could she pretend so much and so casually?

Eve, in the eyes of Nathan now, was a snake and there was no doubt about it.

Nathan sighed.

Had he another choice, he wouldn't have even texted her in the first place.

After all, why would he be having lunch with a bitch he caught cheating on him with another man?

Nathan had not heard this from anybody.

He was not the type of guy to work with hearsay or gossips.

He had caught her twice himself and that was why he believed it.

Otherwise, it wouldn't be so.

If someone had told him, he might not have considered the possibility of any iota of truth because he was in a delusion and proudly calling it love.

Nathan replied, hitting her with: "Okay. Till 2 then".

He wanted to put an emoji like he had done in his previous message but he was very irritated to think about doing such,

Eve didn't deserve it from him.

*********

The time came for the date and Nathan locked up, leaving his place to go her see his elf girl.

Nathan decided to take a taxi, spending about $25 to get to the place and just like he anticipated, he didn't receive any rebate benefits after spending some money on a cab.

'This is hilarious. Looks like I won't get any ten times multiplier effect if I spend on anyone other than women that I have interest in. Hmm.'

Nathan had thought right, striking the spot with his theory as that was exactly the case.

Money spent on himself was not going to be multiplied by ten and returned to him. Same holds true for any dime spent on anyone that is not a woman that has captured his interest m them.

Nathan didn't mind the money he spent on the cab. He had intentionally done so to test out this speculation of his and it was as he expected.

Nathan entered the restaurant and Eve was already there, seated with a glass of juice on the table and a pair of oversized sunglasses sitting beside the drink.

She was dressed in a light, casual, flower-themed gown that one would wear to the beach, well complemented by her straw-coloured summer hat.

She sat there, relaxed with one leg over the other as she skimmed through a magazine.

Beneath the persona of a cheating girlfriend, Eve was certainly a beautiful elf.

Nathan had expected her to arrive before him since he knew how Eve did not joke with keeping time.

If there was anything still decent about Eve, Nathan could bet that it was her regard for time.

Eve hated having to wait and also making people wait.

Nathan drew closer to where she sat, stopping just behind her to take a sneak peek of what she was reading.

"It's a beautiful place," Nathan pointed out, addressing the tourist location that had been given a full page coverage in the magazine.

Eve trembled on the spot, albeit mildly, at the sudden interruption from Nathan's voice, her heart skipping a beat as she looked to her side to see Nathan standing there and smiling at her.

There was about two seconds of silence before Eve began her pretentious act, standing up and immediately throwing her slender arms around Nathan's neck to hug.

"Baby!"

She had a wide smile on her face as she moved into his embrace with Nathan's arms curling around her slim, curvy waist to return the gesture.

"I've missed you, you know," Eve continued with her lie.

Nathan kept a straight face as they hugged each other. Thankfully, they couldn't see each other's face at this moment.

"I missed you too," Nathan responded with a lie to match.

Being in Eve embrace, Nathan noticed something – her smell.

Eve's fragrance was different from what he was used to.

Certainly, Eve was beautiful and all, even dressed so elegantly to their date but the scent that she exuded was an expensive one.

Nathan could tell that it was the break one's bank type of perfumes and he could only but smile.

"You smell nice, Eve."

Nathan's words were a compliment and, at the same time, a message.
