Chapter 3 (Your my Home)

Meanwhile in a dark alley, there were injured men on the floor about ten of them some unconscious, some where too injured to stand and some might be dead but one man stood tall in the middle of this mess with blood on his shirt and fists.

He lite his cigarette and smoked, his phone suddenly buzzed in his pocket and seeing the caller he frowned.

“What do you want this time, I already told you not to call me too much because others might get suspicious of us” He said while cleaning his hands with a handkerchief.

“Come on Louis you know I can’t stay away from you cause where bound together by faith so I can’t stay away from you or I’ll die” the woman on the other line said making Louis sigh out loud.

Louis walked out of the alley to where he parked his car and said to the caller “What do you want this time, I already finished my part of the job so I hope you did yours”.

“Of course I did, the white eagles are done for and the police already arrested their leader so our plan succeeded”. After hearing that Louis ended the call and got in his car and drove off to his office.

On arriving at him office his men where already waiting outside to greet him, they were about twenty men, ten on each side bowed their heads to welcome him as he walked past them and heard straight into his office.

Once he entered the office he was greeted by three of his most trusted men.Anthony Van is a middle aged man and the former second in command before he took over, he was also the one who thought him everything he knows and he also treated him like his own son so they were very close.

Then there’s Parker Liam he is around Louis age, they both joined the group at the same time so they were both thought by Van so they were like brothers but Liam respects him as his boss even when Louis tells him not to act too formal.

And lastly is Antonio Rodriguez who was saved by Louis and choose to serve him as underling even when Louis refused, he kept following him around until he eventually agreed.

“ Welcome boss how was it?..... I hope you weren’t stressed” Antonio said as he took the suitcase from Louis’s hands while Louis went over to his desk.

“ It went well and what do you mean stress, do you think a few bugs like that would give me stress.” Louis took off his coat and gave it to Liam who immediately took it to hang it on the coat rack.

“ Of course not boss, your as strong as always and I’ve never doubted you even once” Antonio is always acting like a fan boy around Louis and it doesn’t surprise anyone since he’s been like that from the beginning.

“ Stop annoying the boss and sir here are the documents you requested I look into, I’ll keep it here for you to look into while we wait outside” Liam dropped the documents on the table then dragged Antonio outside with him.

“How is the plan coming along” Van asked Louis who was looking through the documents Liam left him.

“ It’s going quite well and he hasn’t found out about our movements so we have the advantage for now” Louis said still not taking his eyes away from the documents.

“ Ok if you say so, I’m leaving for today so if you have any work for me just call me ok” Van was about to leave when Louis asked him.

“I still don’t know what made you hate him so much to join hands with us Van” Louis looked at Van who just shrugs in reply and leaves.

Louis shook his head at how Van answered his question before going back to what he was reading.

After looking at the documents Louis sigh before resting back in his chair. It was really hard for him these days and he really wanted things to be over with already and just be live freely.

Louis’s life wasn’t always like this nor was this the life he choose for himself but it was a life forced on him by someone one he considered close to him.

Louis’s mother was a foreigner but his father fell in love with her when he was studying abroad. They both loved each other and got married and had him even though his mother’s parents were against them, both his parents were still happy but when he was five his father got into an accident on his way home and died on the spot.

It was a hard time for both of them but his mother had it even worst than he did. His mother suffered emotionally and physically and as a foreigner it was hard to adapt to everything the one day when after school fifteen year old Louis saw his mother on the floor laying in a pool of her own blood with a knife in her stomach.

No matter how much he screamed and cried begging his mom to wake up, he already knew it was to late and after his mother’s funeral no one came to take him, no one from his father’s nor mother’s side.

Only a mysterious man claiming to be his father’s friend agreed to take him in. Young Louis remember seeing the man before at his father’s funeral but not much after that and since no one agreed to take him, he went with the mysterious man.

The man who took him in is the boss of one of the largest organization in San Diego and he was brought up to become the heir of said organization even if that man had a child of his own, he took care of his education and other things but he was made to train and learn the ways of a gangster.

Even with all that he was still able to get through all that but when he found out the ugly truth about his parents, he made sure to take his revenge. But sometimes he gets tired of everything and just wants to give up on everything.

Louis was snapped out of his trance by a beep from his phone and looking at the name of the sender he couldn’t help but smile because it was from Ruby.

She sent a picture of her and his cat Sara in one of her arms and on the other she held a crate of eggs and the message attached to it saying “ I bought some eggs for dinner so come home quickly your husband and baby are waiting for you”.

Louis surprisingly felt calm after seeing the message it was like all his negative thoughts went out the window, so he replied to her text “ don’t worry your wife will be home before you know it”.

Antonio came in and saw his boss smiling at his phone and was more shocked than the time he killed someone for the first time.He was too scared to ask anything so he just quietly left the room to tell Liam about what he saw but when they both peeked into the room Louis was back to his usual cold face as if what Antonio saw was just an illusion.

After work Louis left at around 7pm and drove back to his apartment building.

He parked his car at a spot close to the building, he then head straight up to his apartment were he found Ruby already waiting for him inside and when she saw him she immediately came to greet him with Sara in her arms.

“Welcome home Louis” Ruby said with a grin since she has been waiting for him to come back.

Seeing Ruby like that Louis unconsciously says “tu es ma maison”* before realizing it confusing both Ruby and himself.

“I meant what do you want to eat?” he quickly asked Ruby to cover what he said and Rudy who replied to his question forgetting about what he said previously as they both went inside to prepare for dinner.

They spent that evening talking about their day and how Ruby got a job and other things before Ruby retired back to her own apartment because she had to write some chapters before she goes to sleep.

After she left, Louis thought about what he said before and why he said it, he even spoke his mother’s language something that he hasn’t done in a long time. “ There must be something wrong with me” he mumbled to himself before shaking his head at himself then going into his room to sleep.
