Chapter 129: The Breaking of a Friendship
"Deon, where's Casdi?" Ardan's voice was serious. It had become difficult for him to speak to Deon the way they used to—ever since the incident at Dhani's office, Deon’s attitude toward him had changed.
"Well, I’m obviously not keeping him in my pocket," Deon snapped, eyes still fixed on the documents in front of him.
"Deon, if this keeps up, our work’s going to fall apart," Ardan replied, frustrated.
"Not my problem."
Deon knew Ardan was starting to lose his temper. For days now, Ardan had asked for documents or anything work-related, and Deon had ignored every request. He was fully aware of what he was doing—deliberately making things difficult so Ardan would get reprimanded by Dhani.
"Stop acting like a child! I’ve got more on my plate than just you. And because you’re sulking, everything’s out of sync!"
"Casdi was right. I was wrong to trust you..." Deon's disappointment was written all over his face.
