"Yu-Gi-Oh... but why the card lore?"
Zuke furrowed his brows, staring at the work displayed in the special mission world slot, feeling somewhat conflicted.
He had watched and played Yu-Gi-Oh before. Except for the early parts of the first manga, the series primarily revolved around card duels, with later generations even making "saving the world through dueling" the main plot.
Although it seemed like a world of playing with cards, the destructive power in the later generations far surpassed Zuke's current abilities.
There were cards that could fuse 12 universes, a material cannon capable of annihilating an entire world, and duelists who could split a universe into four dimensions...
While Zuke could now destroy planets as easily as playing a game, the sheer scale of power displayed in the later Yu-Gi-Oh series, where entire universes were at stake, still intrigued him.
If "Black Bird Requiem" were to devour something like the "Numeron Code" from Yu-Gi-Oh ZEXAL... just thinking about it was thrilling.
However, the special mission world slot didn't display any of the Yu-Gi-Oh anime series but rather "Yu-Gi-Oh: Card Story Chronicles," which left him feeling uneasy.
It wasn't that he hadn't heard of it. Zuke remembered seeing an official promotional video based on the card lore before he transmigrated, created by 247. It featured snippets of stories from various Yu-Gi-Oh cards... which meant Zuke wasn't sure which story he would end up in once he entered the mission world.
It could be the Ice Barrier, the Six Samurai, Sky Striker... or even a world where all the card lores were combined into one cohesive universe.
Some of these card lores didn't have much that would catch Zuke's attention.
For example, the Six Samurai were just a group of warriors vying for dominance, with a touch of supernatural elements. Even Thor could probably dominate that world.
But some card lores had more intimidating settings, like Sky Striker—a god-slaying weapon capable of destroying a planet with a single shot.
A giant robot that could annihilate planets? Even though Zuke already had the power to destroy stars, he was still fascinated by such things.
If he could enter the Sky Striker world, it wouldn't be bad. The "Gate of Babylon" he obtained from Gilgamesh was filled with Gilgamesh's treasures, and he hadn't added anything of his own yet.
If given the chance, making Sky Striker his first personal treasure would be a great idea.
"But I shouldn't rush into this special mission world yet... Bardock should be arriving at the Galactic Patrol headquarters today. I should head to the Dragon Ball world to meet him and discuss the Saiyan situation."
Although he was tempted, Zuke still wasn't sure what elements the "Yu-Gi-Oh: Card Story Chronicles" world contained, so he decided to handle other matters first.
In the Dragon Ball world, Bardock had set off for the Galactic Patrol headquarters two days ago and should have arrived by now. Zuke needed to talk to him.
As for the Yu-Gi-Oh card Story chronicles... he could explore that after finishing his business in the Dragon Ball world. After all, he had two chances to enter mission worlds each day.
Right now, the JOJO world and the Type-Moon world were still generating their main storylines, so the only worlds he could enter were the Dragon Ball world and the special mission world.
...
Bardock had been sitting at the Galactic Patrol headquarters for several hours, waiting for Zuke to arrive.
During this time, Galactic Patrol officers occasionally passed by his resting area, making Bardock feel extremely uneasy.
After all, he was a Saiyan, and many of the things he had done were enough to get him imprisoned for life by the Galactic Patrol. It was only because of the backing of Frieza's army that the Galactic Patrol dared not take action against the Saiyans.
Although most of these Galactic Patrol officers were far weaker than Bardock, if they all attacked together, Bardock felt he would have little chance of escaping.
Fortunately, just as Bardock's patience was about to run out, Merus arrived with Zuke.
"Mr. Bardock, I've brought Mr. Zuke. You two can have a good talk now."
Merus wore his usual polite smile and nodded at Zuke.
Zuke had already explained his plan to Merus, so Merus knew that Zuke intended to recruit the Saiyans and separate them from Frieza's army.
Merus naturally approved of this. Under Zuke's leadership, the Saiyans would likely be more restrained than they were under Frieza's rule.
"You're finally here."
Seeing a familiar face, Bardock let out a sigh of relief. He stood up and followed Zuke toward the Galactic Patrol headquarters' training ground.
Since Zuke had mentioned earlier that he wanted Bardock to assess whether his current strength was enough to replace King Vegeta, Merus had reserved the training ground for the two of them.
Bardock didn't waste time on small talk—Saiyans were a warrior race, and actions spoke louder than words.
If Zuke couldn't demonstrate strength that would convince Bardock, no amount of persuasion would make Bardock agree to let Zuke attempt to overthrow King Vegeta.
Even if Bardock, being more rational, believed Zuke's words and thought he could lead the Saiyans to a better life, the other Saiyans might not be so easily convinced.
Only overwhelming strength could make the Saiyans submit—just as Frieza had forcibly ruled over them with his terrifying power.
...
Once they entered the training ground, Bardock didn't waste any time and launched a fierce attack on Zuke.
Bardock's combat power was formidable. Although he wasn't as strong as King Vegeta, his power level was still the same as one of the elite Saiyans. His attacks were lightning-fast, and in the blink of an eye, he was in front of Zuke.
With punches and kicks aimed at Zuke's face and chest, Bardock struck with full force—but Zuke didn't even move. He stood still, allowing Bardock's attacks to land.
*Boom!*
A terrifying impact erupted on Zuke's body, but Bardock's expression changed drastically when he realized his attacks hadn't even made Zuke take a step back. Zuke's body merely trembled slightly.
Zuke's combat power was likely over a million now, so Bardock's attacks, with his power level of around 10,000, had little effect.
The fact that Bardock's attacks made Zuke's body shake at all could already be considered a success.
"My turn."
After standing still and tanking Bardock's attacks to demonstrate his defense, Zuke smiled and quickly struck back.
His hand instantly grabbed Bardock's head before he could dodge, pulling him closer.
Then, Zuke's right fist slammed into Bardock's chest!
This was to show Bardock his offensive power!
