Chapter 130: Kurenai’s Gratitude

At Kurenai house.

Returning to the room with Kurenai, Kiyoshi waited idly on the sofa, anticipating her return from the mission, looking forward to her arrival after a long day of travel.

Half an hour later.

Seeing her step out of the bathroom, dressed in a stunning red camisole dress, her beauty seemed even more captivating.

Kiyoshi's eyes lit up, unable to stop himself from staring.

"Wow, Kurenai-nee, you just keep getting more beautiful." He exclaimed in admiration.

"Your sweet words haven't changed a bit." Kurenai chuckled, smiling as she gently dried her damp, jet-black hair.

Women adorn themselves for those who admire them.

Hearing Kiyoshi compliment her beauty, a joyful expression crossed Kurenai's delicate face. For a moment, a warm feeling filled her heart, and a faint smile curved her crimson lips.

"Hey, your forehead."

In the rush earlier, she hadn't noticed closely. But now, seeing the diamond-shaped mark on Kiyoshi's forehead, Kurenai's eyes narrowed. "Is that.?"

After all, she had seen Tsunade before, and that familiar mark adorned Tsunade's forehead too.

"Yes, it's the Strength of a Hundred Seal." Kiyoshi nodded with a smile. "I've mastered it."

"Amazing."

Kurenai was genuinely astonished. 

She remembered that Kiyoshi once mentioned this technique, which could supposedly adjust chakra flow to grant eternal youth—a skill many could only dream of. 

But it was also known to be incredibly challenging to learn.

Even Shizune, a peer from her days at the academy and Tsunade's disciple, who had followed Tsunade for years and mastered exceptional medical skills, had yet to fully grasp it.

"Well, it's nothing too difficult for me."

Kiyoshi stood up, and like before, gave her a familiar, affectionate hug. 

Pressing his cheek to hers, he couldn't help but nestle close, looking into her red eyes. He asked with a smile, "I heard you became a Jonin, Kurenai-nee?"

'Acting so clingy.' Kurenai's cheeks reddened as she gazed at the young man she had known for so long, feeling a faint skip in her heartbeat.

"Yes, thanks to you, Kiyoshi." she said, feeling genuinely happy about her recent promotion. 

Gently touching Kiyoshi's face, she smiled, "The Genjutsu scrolls and insights left by your great grandmother helped me immensely."

Seeing her peers like Kakashi, Asuma, and Guy advance to Jonin one by one, and even her friend Anko and others like Genma becoming Special Jonin, Kurenai couldn't help but feel a bit left behind. 

Who wouldn't want to stand out if given the chance?

But being a Genjutsu specialist, her path of improvement was significantly more challenging than that of others. The scroll that Kiyoshi had gifted her had filled in those gaps perfectly.

To a genius like Kiyoshi, Toka Senju's Genjutsu teachings might seem like a bonus, nothing too groundbreaking. 

But for Kurenai, who had reached a bottleneck without a suitable mentor, these insights felt like an enlightenment, helping her overcome obstacles she had been facing.

In addition, she now had access to advanced Genjutsu techniques that she previously couldn't even consider. As a result, her strength had improved rapidly.

"The main reason for your progress is that you have a high aptitude for Genjutsu, Kurenai-nee, which let you grasp the knowledge my great-grandmother left so quickly." 

Kiyoshi praised, then continued with a smile, "But Kurenai-nee, as a shinobi, it's not enough to master only Genjutsu. You should strive for a more well-rounded skill set."

"Otherwise, if you encounter an opponent immune to Genjutsu, wouldn't you be helpless?"

In reality, for Kurenai to have become a Jonin, it wasn't just her Genjutsu skills that mattered. 

A true Jonin, except for specialists like Guy, usually possessed well-rounded abilities without glaring weaknesses.

Yet, to Kiyoshi's view, Kurenai's ninjutsu and taijutsu still had room for improvement.

"Kurenai-nee, I remember your chakra nature includes both fire and earth, right?" Kiyoshi asked with a smile.

Not only was she proficient in Genjutsu, but Kurenai also had a certain degree of chakra sensing ability, although it was relatively average—like her ninjutsu talent, which was rather ordinary.

Nonetheless, Kiyoshi was determined to make her a versatile Jonin in the shortest possible time.

"You think everyone's a genius like you? A jack-of-all-trades?" Kurenai teased with a slight eye roll, looking charmingly playful. 

She gently pinched Kiyoshi's cheek, saying frankly, "Because my ninjutsu talent isn't high, I've had to focus more on Genjutsu."

"Though I have both fire and earth chakra natures, I only know a couple of low-level fire and earth jutsus, and even those I've barely mastered."

"Besides, my chakra reserves are quite limited. They're nowhere near your absurdly massive amount."

Despite possessing fire and earth chakra natures, her talent in ninjutsu was lacking. And more importantly, her chakra reserves barely met the Jonin threshold.

"It's okay. With me around, that's no longer an issue," Kiyoshi reassured her, patting his chest with confidence.

"For now, Kurenai-nee, stay in the village and skip the missions."

"I know you've learned a lot of jutsus and you're always generous about teaching them to me." 

Kurenai smiled, brushing her hand gently over his hair. "But that doesn't mean I can master them in a short time."

"Kurenai-nee, give me your hand," Kiyoshi said with a grin.

Curious, Kurenai extended her hand, and Kiyoshi gently grasped it. Instantly, a visible chakra flow surged from his palm.

"W-what is this?"

Feeling the warmth radiate from Kiyoshi's touch, Kurenai's cheeks flushed. But her expression soon shifted to one of shock as she stared at him in disbelief.

"By controlling chakra with precision, I can convert my chakra into a form compatible with yours and transfer it to you," Kiyoshi explained. 

"That way, you can train freely without worrying about chakra limits."

"With ten days or so of intensive training, you should be able to master those ninjutsu techniques and become a well-rounded ninja. 

After that, it'll just be a matter of filling in the gaps in your taijutsu. I'll teach you a few practical secret techniques, and you'll be almost at the level of an Elite Jonin."

For the average ninja, limited chakra reserves were the norm. Like Kurenai, most had to be cautious, unable to practice even basic elemental jutsu too frequently.

Even in optimal conditions, it would take considerable time to recover after exhausting chakra reserves.

But with Kiyoshi as a human chakra generator and an exceptional healer, Kurenai could practice any jutsu below S-rank repeatedly without fear of depletion—outlasting even his recovery rate would be tough.

Under this increased efficiency, her training could progress at a rate unimaginable if she had trained alone.

And with Kiyoshi's guidance as an all-round ninjutsu expert, the boost to her training would be practically unmatched.
