Chapter 9

Chapter 9

Naya's point of view

I watched in horror, far from sympath, rather stunned by the sight of the gagging lady with her eyes all red from the anguish one of the prince was inflicting. Veins were lined against her face visibly. She's struggling in an obvious agony, and had me wondering what Azriel was doing to her.

"My p-r-ince…." Her voice managed to squeeze out, her eyeballs straining to shut her sight.

"Never in your life again would you touch or try to hurt my mate, understood?" He sentenced, his steps pulling close to the girl.

Her head shook like it was on fire, a seething fear on her face.

"Now apologize to her," he demanded in a cold tone .

"I- I'm sorry, please please please forgive me," she pleaded amidst torment, breathless.

"It's okay," I approved her apology, and waved at Azriel to let her go.

She scurried off seconds later, fear in her eyes as she ran past me and away. I was now left alone with the prince.

"Thanks for helping me out," my voice broke into the silence that suddenly shrouded the moment.

I heard no response, rather the sound of his gentle footsteps as he approached. Soon his scent came around, strong and hard as it whipped up into my nostrils.

I glanced up and saw how close he'd gotten, there was only few inches left of space between us.

"Mate," he called out to me in the most gentle voice I've ever heard, soft yet masculine.

The allure drew my gaze to him, to see the romance wild and glazing in his green eyes. "Are you okay?" He quizzed, as his palm lifted forward to grease softly on my cheek.

My inside churned, and I felt a lightness exploded beneath my skin as his touch trailed further down my cheek to my jaw before he cupped my face in a perfect hold.

"I-" my voice betrayed me and went senseless at the clear sight of him under the shiny moonlight.

Unlike the dark beauty possessed by his brother, Vladiel. His was different, dull and enticing still.

His brown hair shined rather than darkened under the night sky. Average, lush, curly, and soft to the eyes. His well trimmed stubble shared a striking similarity to that of his brother, it grew out right from below his nose, curved down to his jawline.

His chiseled face matched that of a golden molded statue, sharp and refined. And those small eyes of his stood out in beauty of his jaded eyes.

His touch dropped off my face when a throaty Ahem interrupted the moment. I watched his head tipped over to look behind me.

I also whirled my head around to see Cadriel standing feet away from us with his arms folded.

"Was I interrupting anything?" His brows creased suspiciously as he marched towards us.

Azriel stepped back and away from me. "No, not at all. We're just leaving by the way," he answered his brother. He also stretched out his palm for me to take so we could leave the garden.

I have to return back to the hall, but then the false triplets will be there for me to deal with.

I took Azriel's hand, a subtle spark of pleasure the moment our palms connected. He took me with him as we walked back to the passage that leads to the hall.

"There are clones of you," I decided to let him know, or them, because Cadriel was right behind us trailing in slower steps.

"We've seen them, it's why we've yet to make an appearance," Cadriel responded from behind. "Where is Vladiel though? You're suppose to be with him," he quizzed in return.

I remembered I woke up to him by my side. Why was he so grumpy and aloof? He could have held a nice and warm conversation with him, but was super closed off and walked out of the room.

"He left me as soon as I woke up, I don't know where he is or where he went. I actually thought he came to meet you guys until now," I told him and he hummed in response.

"So I've got a plan-"

"What's your name?" Cadriel interrupted whatever Azriel was going to say.

"Naya."

"Naya. That sounds familiar, like I've heard it before. I'm sure you know my own name so…"

"You have a beautiful name, Naya," Azriel mouthed in admiration.

I looked up at him and smiled. "Thank you,"

"Yeah yeah, now get on with the plan you have." Cadriel sounded bitter.

Out of all the three, he was the only one who looked less intimidating. He looks like the type who wouldn't take anything serious.

"We're going to need your help Naya," Azriel spoke in a way that called out to me. He actually has a way of doing that, he knows how to work his vocals in a way that usually calls out to me.

I nodded with a smile. I don't even know why I'm smiling, but my lips remain stretched. "What can I do?"

"We need you to lure those clones of us somewhere private, then the rest will be up to us," he said back to me.

That's not hard, I think I can do that.

"What will be up to us? When she lures them into a room? What are we gonna do? Kill them and pretend we're the clones?" Cadriel asked in a tone that sees Azriel's idea as a ridiculous one.

"Yup, exactly that," Azriel nodded as he answered. "Dad doesn't know we're back and he has clones out there fooling people that those are us. How about we use that to our advantage?" A sexy smirk curled up his lips as he conversed with his brother.

The thought to tell them about their father's creepiness crossed my mind, but for some gut reasons I decided against it.

We finally arrived back at the hall. I'm sure I've missed the most important part of the wedding now. Though it's not like I want to be here.

"I'll uncloak you now. Make sure to lure those bastards into your room, we'll be there waiting for you. If you do this successfully, I will reward you with a cupcake baked by yours truly." Cadriel winked at me before he suddenly vanished.

Uncloak me? Wait so we've been cloaked this entire time. No wonder people walked past us without throwing us a glance, we were invisible.

And he must gone invisible again with Azriel.

I took a deep breath with my gaze fixed ahead of me where the dinner party is being held. My mom was there with the Alpha King, seated at the front edge of the table, the triplets were also present on the left side smiling and chatting with the guests that surrounded the table.

"This should be easy," I mouthed silently to myself as I walked over to the table.
