Chapter 10
Naya's point of view
"Naya!" My mom vocalized as soon as she sighted me creeping into the seat right beside the triplets, "Nice of you to finally join us." She flashed me a soft grin.
I smiled back at her, "Sorry I missed half the whole thing. Went to clear the mind, and lost track of the moment plus reality," I said to her.
"You weren't too late, and like your mother already said. It's nice to have you here. Have you met my sons?" The Alpha King chipped into the convo, then gestured at the triplets I was seated with.
I shrugged, "I can say I have." I nodded, the fake smile I had on my face unwavering. "Congratulations by the way," I told him as my gaze flickered down to the ring on his finger.
He flexed the ring finger in pride, nodding his head at the achievement or whatever it is to him. "I'm just super excited to be a part of your family, and you a part of mine. I suggest my sons take you on a tour of the palace after this dinner, get to know each other better. After all, we're now family and it's only nice we start acting like it?"
Everything about this man is just creepy. From the way he speaks, to the voice he uses, and his body language. All of it were creepy to my view and sense.
It wasn't what he did that made him creepier, he's been like that to me since I've met him. He just got worse after what he did.
I've always felt like the man's relationship with my mother has some hidden motive, and it's kind of sad that I wasn't wrong. He was indeed with my mother for a reason I'm yet to figure out.
Though he made my plan to lure out the triplets easier when he, himself suggested it and practically did my work for me.
"I look forward to that tour," I said back to him while I glanced at the clones. Weren't people noticing how weird they were, they literally have the same stretch of smile on their faces and same expression.
It's like they were operating on a controller, and we're robots. It's super suspicious that none of the guests are a bit concerned about the triplets authenticity.
"You know I'm really tired at the moment, and would like to call it a night. How about we get on with that tour so I can go for a long rest," I spoke up awhile after my silence.
The triplets at the same time darted their gazes over to me, as well as the Alpha King. A weird tell on each of their looks.
Was it that they were awed by my push to engage them, or they've got the hunch that I have an ulterior motive? Hopefully it's the former, and not the latter.
"Sure thing, heaven knows I'm tired of this dinner already," One of the clones, Cadriel's own responded and rolled his eyes as he pushed his plates inches away from him.
"Yeah let's go," Azriel backed up and did the same thing.
Vladiel didn't say anything and just pushed his own seat backward to create enough space for him to stand up.
I glanced at my mom, the vibrant smile and glow on her face. She has no idea what she's going through, and on a lost track of her reality. I promise to get her back, I promise to save her from the King's clutches and restore back to her, her natural senses.
The triplets and I exited the grand hall in bid to tour around the palace. As soon as we stepped outside, I fell to the floor and acted as if I was hit by a sudden ache in the head.
"Are you okay?"
"What happened?"
"Are you alright? Should we get you to the infirmary?"
Worry sprung waves on their faces as they moved to me with anxiousness.
"I'm fine, I'm fine. It's just a little ache, it's common due to my sickness. Please before we start this tour, can we like go to my room to get my drugs? You guys are going to have to agree if none of you all wants me on your back by the time we finish checking out the whole palace?"
They looked at each other communicatively, and then nodded.
"Yeah sure." They nodded in agreement.
"Can you walk? Or should I help you?" Azriel stretched his palm out for me to take so he could assist my movement.
I waved at him dismissively with a soft smile, "Nah I can manage, don't worry yourself." I pushed up to my feet in a false struggle then led the way to my room while they followed closely behind.
"So how was life in the city? Aren't you guys going to tell me all about yourselves?" I try to kill the silence with a useless subject to talk about, because the last time I want to hear right now is people, not just them, talk about themselves. It's tiring.
This is just to keep their minds off doubts or suspicions till we make it to my room, cause so far this plan is nearing a success.
"Well believe it or not, I like rainbow. People don't just get how phenomenal the view is, it's often disregarded and never appreciated," Cadriel answered with a bit lot of enthusiasm.
Thank God he couldn't see my face to see how bland I reacted to that quality of his.
"I'm also a lover of sunset, and I feel the same way," I told him.
We finally arrived by my room. I opened the door and went inside, expecting them to come in with me but was a bit shocked to see them standing outside.
"You guys can come in and check out the beauty of this room, or are you guys shy?" I tried to play it cool and lure them in.
I opened the door wider for them since there was nobody in my room, or I just couldn't see them. My guess was the real Cadriel with the power to make himself and people go invisible has cloaked their presence.
"Oh sure." Azriel stepped inside
"Yeah why not." Vladiel shrugged.
"Alright."
They all came inside like I wanted, then I slammed the door close at the same moment the real Cadriel lifted the veil that kept their presence hidden.
Tension raped into the moment when six identical people stared into each other's faces in mixed feelings and emotions.
"They got out." Fake Vladiel barred his teeth.
"Let's take care of them once and for all," Fake Azriel prompted as he fisted his palms.
"I've waited so long for this." The last of the clones, Cadriel cracked his neck to both sides before they all launched an attack straight at the real triplets.
