Chapter 251: Favor

Chapter 251: Favor

"You!"

Seeing Lin Langtian's expression of disdain, Yan Mo's face twisted in anger. He shouted coldly, "Our Storm Dynasty is a powerful dynasty! Do you understand the consequences of offending us for the sake of these nobodies?"

"Enough!" Lin Langtian scoffed. Hearing this, Jinwu, who had been waiting for an excuse to act, moved in a flash.

Su Rou and her companions watched in shock as Jinwu, who had been friendly and mild-mannered since their meeting, suddenly transformed. His face took on a deadly, cold edge, his previously gentle demeanor replaced by a chilling ferocity as if he'd become a fierce beast from the frozen wastes.

The air before Jinwu exploded, and an overwhelming shadow lunged forward with a terrifying pressure. A spear cloaked in freezing energy sliced through the air, its sheer power creating an afterimage as it shot straight toward Yan Mo and his companions.

Jinwu's attack was raw, unembellished, yet the overwhelming cold energy it carried struck fear into everyone watching. Yan Mo was visibly rattled by the sudden assault, his body glowing as he hastily summoned a golden shield around him.

"Hmph!"

Jinwu merely smirked at Yan Mo's barrier. With a surge of icy power, he thrust his spear forward, smashing into the golden shield.

Clang!

The sound of metal striking metal reverberated through the air, and everyone watched in stunned silence as the shield shattered instantly. Yan Mo was thrown back, his body scraping across the ground for over a hundred meters before crashing into the trees, seriously wounded.

Not pausing for a moment, Jinwu followed up with a barrage of spear attacks. His deadly strikes found their marks in the chests of Yan Mo's remaining companions before they could even react.

Thud!

Blood sprayed as two of the Storm Dynasty fighters, both only at the second stage of Nirvana, fell dead, Jinwu's spear having pierced through their hearts. The other two, both at the third stage of Nirvana, fared only slightly better, managing to survive the initial assault.

"You wretch!"

The surviving two, realizing the extent of Jinwu's power, snarled in anger, but before they could retaliate, Jinwu's figure blurred. The air was suddenly filled with spear shadows, each one charged with frigid energy, as Jinwu's spear tore into them with relentless precision.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The three clashed at lightning speed, waves of energy rippling through the air. Every blow was aimed to kill.

Lin Langtian watched the fight with a calm expression, his confidence in Jinwu's power unwavering. He knew Jinwu's strength had grown immensely. Two months earlier, Jinwu had already bested a top warrior of the Qian Dynasty, and since then, his skills had only sharpened.

Just as Lin Langtian expected, the fight was short-lived. Jinwu's overpowering cold energy soon overwhelmed the two third-stage Nirvana fighters, and he seized an opening, his ice-forged spear striking them down with deadly precision.

The two fell from the sky, blood spraying as they crashed to the ground, lifeless.

Jinwu turned, raising his spear to point at the staggering Yan Mo. He said coldly, "Now it's your turn."

Yan Mo's gaze darkened as he took in the scene, feeling a chill at Jinwu's staggering combat ability. Yet, biting his lip, he forced out a defiant shout: "Who do you think you are? Don't you realize the kind of trouble you're getting yourselves into?!"

"The 'trouble' you're talking about—is it the Storm Dynasty?" Lin Langtian replied, his tone filled with scorn. "If so, let them come."

"You're all bravado now, but you'll regret this soon enough!" Yan Mo snarled. Yet, even as he spoke, he was already retreating, body tense as he darted into the distance.

Lin Langtian watched Yan Mo's retreating figure with cold indifference, then glanced at Jinwu. Seeing the nod, Jinwu immediately unfurled his black-gold wings and shot off in swift pursuit. As an avian beast, Jinwu's speed was formidable, rivaling even Lin Langtian's own.

The forest was left in shambles, with four of the Storm Dynasty's fighters lying breathless, while Jinwu took off after the fleeing Yan Mo.

"Brother Lin Langtian," Su Kui said hesitantly, "Yan Mo's family background is… complicated. Who knows what last-ditch tricks he might have up his sleeve."

Lin Langtian gave a reassuring wave, smiling slightly. Jinwu, despite his young age, possessed the innate talents and instincts of a top-tier beast. Against someone like Yan Mo, Lin Langtian had no doubts.

And, sure enough, Lin Langtian wasn't disappointed. Within mere minutes, the faint sounds of rushing wind drifted from the distance. A figure approached at high speed and soon landed lightly nearby—it was Jinwu.

"All taken care of?" Lin Langtian asked with a grin.

"Easily handled," Jinwu replied, his voice relaxed. "He was nothing special. Though I did find a spirit jade on him—seems like news of his death might reach the Storm Dynasty's leaders right away."

Hearing this, Lin Langtian waved it off, unconcerned. "The Storm Dynasty is hardly a worry," he murmured. "Even if it were one of the top-ranked dynasties, they wouldn't mean much to me now."

On the sidelines, Su Kui and his companions stared at Lin Langtian, astonished. Despite knowing of Lin Langtian's reputation, they still couldn't quite believe he'd speak so casually of defying a super dynasty.

"Brother Lin Langtian, we're indebted to you," Su Kui said solemnly, his face expressing deep gratitude as he clasped his hands in respect. "I won't forget this debt of gratitude, and if there's ever a chance, I'll repay you to the best of my ability."

"Thank you, Brother Lin Langtian." Su Rou's large eyes fixed gratefully on Lin Langtian and Jinwu, her voice warm with appreciation.

Lin Langtian glanced at Su Rou, a faint smile touching his face. Trading trouble with an insignificant dynasty to earn the goodwill of a promising young talent—by any measure, this was a worthwhile exchange.
