Bathsheda' Hope

As soon as Dumbledore left the classroom, Hermione came sprinting towards Harry. Her face had been marred by anxiety and nervousness.

"Harry," she said in a panicked tone. "What just happened?"

Harry gave a smile of reassurance to Hermione, which implied that everything is fine. Some relief came to Hermione at Harry's smile.

"I just lost control… when Snape's spell came towards me, my body reacted instinctively…" he said, and placed his hands on Hermione's shoulder in further reassurance.

"Mr. Potter," Professor Babbling chimed in from the side. "Please follow me."

"I need to place you in detention," she said.

Harry nodded and gave a smile and a wink to Hermione and followed behind Professor Babbling. As he was about to leave the class, his eyes caught Daphne Greengrass, who was sporting an incredulous look on her face. She was definitely shocked and unsure at what had suddenly transpired in the classroom.

Meanwhile, the other Slytherins did not know how to react.

They definitely had no love lost for Snape as the man was cruel enough with them, but they could also not deny the fact that Severus Snape was the man on whose shoulders they stood, high and mighty, compared to the other houses.

He was the shield and the sword of the Slytherin House in Hogwarts and let them act as per their 'wishes' inside the house.

Harry followed behind Professor Babbling through Hogwarts corridor as they walked in silence.

"You are quite a powerful wizard, Mr. Potter," it was Professor Babbling who broke the silence.

"Powerful wizard?" Harry chuckled. "That I am…"

"You are not very humble, are you?" Professor Babbling asked with an amused face.

"Your behaviour is quite contrary to what I have heard about you."

"And what have you heard about me, Professor Babbling?" Harry asked in return.

Professor Babbling slowed down, and now Harry was walking side by side with her.

"That you are an innocent… simple," Professor Babbling added after moments of pause, "and definitely not an arrogant fellow."

"The assessment is not quite wrong… but not quite right either," he said.

Professor Babbling simply nodded.

"May I know the reason for your sudden interest in the study of ancient runes?" she asked after some moments.

"Or," she continued, "I believe that I should not call it sudden…"

"The way you drew the symbols of the runes," she added, "you did not look like an amateur at all."

"Maybe I am just naturally talented," Harry replied narcissistically.

Professor Babbling shook her head in amusement and she said, "If not for other circumstances… that defensive rune would have been more than enough to pass the test."

"Oh!" Harry said. "What other circumstances, Professor Babbling?"

"Headmaster Dumbledore will want to confirm himself," she said after moments of silence. "And his test will be quite difficult, I believe."

She had said as far as she could and hoped that Harry understood her 'indication.' By that time, they had reached the door of the room where he was supposed to be in detention.

"See you later, Mr. Potter," Professor Babbling said as she turned to walk away.

"Professor Babbling," Harry said, making Professor Babbling halt in her tracks.

"I am confident in my abilities in runes…" he added, "You know, I recently discovered the diaries and notes of my mother… Lily Potter."

By the time Professor Babbling 'understood' what Harry had said, he had walked inside the room. And she stood there stunned.

"Diaries and notes of Lily Potter" was the thing echoing in her mind.

Had Harry found his heritage? Had he started to understand the truth behind his legacy? Maybe he would have found something related to the Potter family too… Maybe he would know the connection between the Babbling family and the Potter family.

Maybe Harry would know that the Babbling family were the 'Associate family' of the Potter family…

Professor Babbling's heart rate increased in excitement as the various thoughts ran through her mind. Her expression had turned delighted and excited, and a glint had appeared in her eyes.

If only Harry could take his real place in this wizarding world… the first thing she was going to do was beat the shit out of Severus Snape.

That overgrown bat had been a constant menace in her life.

With all these thoughts running through her mind, she returned to her classroom.

Dumbledore, after explaining things to Snape, had just returned back to his office and slumped back in his throne like chair.

He was clearly frustrated, and Snape had only made things difficult for him.

"Even Molly would do better than this bat…" he sighed in frustration.

His mind wandered, and he got nervous thinking that Voldemort's soul had started to affect Harry's behaviour too much.

Ideally, this would not have been so problematic, but Harry was getting extremely powerful with each passing day.

And the scene where Harry's spell had shattered his spell constantly replayed in his mind.

"Even if I did not use my full power," Dumbledore muttered to himself, "the power behind Harry Potter's spell was too much."

"It was definitely much more than what an average fully grown wizard would be capable of," he sighed.

He needed to do something. Things seemed getting out of hand.
