Eve watched curiously as Nina and Jing stood near the doorway while she remained seated on the edge of the bed. Since Bane had left, she had been wiping down Kaela, who had been quietly staring at Jing since she had entered the room. Eve knew about the animosity between the eagle and fox clan, but she wasn't sure how Kaela would react to having Jing, a fox folk, in the same room.

"Why is she with your group?" Kaela asked after Eve had finished cleaning an especially bad portion of her waist that was covered in bleeding sores.

Eve looked over at Jing, who was trying to hide by keeping Nina between her and the sick eagle folk girl, and then went back to what she was doing.

"Jing is affianced to Bane, so she is traveling with us to get to know him better," Eve explained, and Kaela raised an eyebrow.
