Quiet-Rivulet

"What?" three stupefied voices aroused at the same time.

One-Soul cleared her throat, bewilderment edging her tone. "How, exactly?"

The blue spirit shook its head from side to side, sending water droplets flying everywhere. It glinted in the small light that came from the entrance, making it seem divine. "He shouldn't have not done that in the first place."

That broke the impression.

"I didn't even mean to-"

"Then what do you possibly want us to do?" One-Soul asked haltingly, ignoring Rav's attempts to explain that he wasn't the one who intentionally did it. "I don't see what we can actually do, hm?"

It backed away as suddenly, an ice-chipped stream aimed at its neck, while the blue spirit smiled with trepidation. It didn't expect that, though it okayed it off well.

"I can get rid of us both," the spirit spoke with a quiet, eerie tone. Still shook. "I already know the way to get him back."

Loud-Wings skipped over to Rav and sat on his shoulder, evidently joyful. "That's Quiet-Rivulet, a really old spirit who greeted us both when we died." it said, kicking its legs. "Although she has absolutely no idea as to how she died and whose reign she was under."

Are those.. "..reign?"

The happy spirit looked curiously at Rav. "Yea, reign. Like who your alive under. Let me get into more detail," it added when Rav opened his mouth to suggest something, "I mean it like this; I was born and raised under a Aster-Fate nicknamed 'Vine Stars,' even thought I can't remember his actual name. Me and One-Soul, actually. Your Aster-Fate was the Chieftain/Deputy at that time."

The Aster-Fate as deputy? That really wasn't something Rav could imagine, no no. But Quiet-Rivulet.. like are those..

His gaze glided over the water as it twisted, the smooth flow somewhat satisfying.

"Is Quiet-Rivulet an ability user?" Rav asked, unknowningly.

"An ability user?" Loud-Wings looked over at the blue spirit who was now patting One-Soul's back, telling it something really quietly. "Yes of course she is, can't you see?"

I said that out loud? Well, it was a genuine question.. but the thing was, Rav never heard of someone called "Quiet-Rivulet" that gained powers, so who is she?

"But isn't Pale-Bijou the only one that gained powers in Crescent Tribe's history?" he looked at Loud-Wings, noticing the expression on the spirit's face.

"What in the smokes are you possibly talking about?" it looked at Rav also, puzzled. "I've never heard of this 'Pale-Bijou,' and no, that person wasn't the first one in history."

What? Rav couldn't believe it, she wasn't the first in Crescent Tribe's history? Well, then Quiet-Rivulet might be her? What's happening here?

"Ay Quiet-Rivulet!" Loud-Wing called over to the spirit, "you know anyone by the name of 'Pale-Bijou'?"

"Pale-Bijou.." Quiet-Rivulet murmured, "I have no idea who that is."

Panic energized Rav. "What could both of you mean!? Pale-Bijou, the female that gained powers!?"

"I would've known if this 'Pale-Bijou' was here, but I don't," she said quietly, smiling. Even though it looked like she was enjoy the wrong things right now, as in how her eyes flashed with happiness, she still said, "She might not have made it." She definitely knows what she is smiling at.

"Not have made it?" One-Soul finally spoke, its eyes on the water spirit. "We all make it."

We all make it.. then what could have happened to the ones that died in the Massacre? And what could have happened to Pale-Bijou herself?

How about this 'not the first person in history to' mean?

His questions might've been endless if it was not for Loud-Wings interrupting the train of thoughts.

"How about this?" it said, patting Rav's shoulder. "Imagine a place you want to go to."

Imagine a place? What does that mean? What, he will magically be there-?

**

Yea he is there, along with One-Soul, Quiet-Rivulet, and Loud-Wings.

This was the place where Rav last seen Vex-Ice, just giving him small comfort.

"This is quite deep in this boreal forest," One-Soul commented with crossed arms. "What happened here?"

"When the traveling group left," Rav said wistfully. "Don't you know?"

"Yea sure! I remember that, but it was so fast and stuff it was confusing!" Loud-Wings waves its arms.

"This is the place you want to come to?" One-Soul looked at the huge growing trees, inspecting them one by one. "I don't remember this place when I was alive."

"Not anymore, but I will need to go."

Quiet-Rivulet said. "My time here is ending."

Rav turned to it, surprised. "But aren't you going to tell me how to get back?"

"I told that to One-Soul since she is going to be staying here," she flickered her eyes towards the female spirit. "I can't stay for long, just as I said."

Why did you waste the time then? He retorted.

"Ok," he nodded, acting like that thought didn't just appear. The spirit walked off, dismaterializing along the way.

Silence engulfed the trees as soon as the spirit left, its heavy substance of water not leaving a trance behind.

"Welp," Loud-Wings, with its wings spread out and wide, "we should tell you the solution, yes?"

"I'm gonna tell him, you stay over there, " One-Soul raised here eyebrow. "You're not reliable. Come on," she said as she floated away, passing in-between the trees.

Rav took a few steps ahead, tempted, then looked back on Loud-Wings, who had its wings folded in a messy, sad way and its head drooping.

"I'll be back," Rav called to the sad spirit. It didn't respond, only turned away. Hm, Rav thought.

* * * * *

Night walked back to camp, furious. The Space Birds, their intelligence in these 'stars,' disgusting. It doesn't even look like stars! Just circled that had points that was curved in some way, goodness!

The dead leaves and small patches of snow behind her crinkled as Sage-Onyx and Feather followed. She could hear their short packed breaths, their steps heavy.

The silence between the three must have made Feather uncomfortable, because with a reluctant tone, "they can really control eachother? That was amazing and terrifying."

When Night turned her head to check on Feather's condition, Sage-Onyx had the same mindset.

"Don't talk too much, your side is bleeding heavily. Gosh, what do the Healers use again..?" they should change this system. That everyone knows basic treatment or something.

"I think see should get a move on," Night said as she halted. "I hope everyone can use their wings."

A sigh escaped from Sage-Onyx."You're very impatient, Night."

"Better to help Feather quickier, even if she starts to hurt," with that, Night took off, her wings still energized from fighting. Her wounds weren't serious, even though she did help the elder and the apprentice. It was easier to endure pain when you're still in a state of light shock, nothing like that to kill you, but to numb the pain. She forgot the word to that state of mind when you're suddenly panicked, you can't feel pain, and basically you can do anything you want with that extra strength, speed, etcetera.

She is was aware of a long slash on her right wing, though, so it's better to tip her weight on the left wing when it feels like the right is going to fail her.

It was a steady flight back, and as soon as she saw the familiar minty green leaves in the sea of darker, emerald colored ones, Night completely dived.

"WHATE HAPPENED HERE!?" The angry shout of Night made Shine jump.
