The Ones.
Hand to chest, a heartbeat. There is a heartbeat.
He'd learned this, you can easily tell if someone is alive or dead, even unconscious with this.
When a person's alive, their heart will beat every second, when the person is unconscious, it will be a slow, grinding process, and when the person is dead, no pulse whatsoever.
It has to apply to spirits too, right?
The Ones.
A heartbeat.
So he's alive, right?
The dome turned darker every second, he noticed, and that was suspicious.
But he thought it was a timer of some sort.
He knew, actually.
The Ones.
".."
No hesitation.
"No," Rav said with a smile, his heart jumped to his throat. "I'm alive."
.
.
"Wow!"
"I'm right!"
"You're right!"
The spacious place suddenly lit up, the red cloth that covered every wall flared, and every expression on those white faces were of pure joy.
I did it? His smile dropped. He was so nervous! He breathed slowly, refreshingly.
"We are The Ones!"
"The Ones!"
Wasn't that repeati-
"We are your instincts, your doubts, your brain, your thoughts!" They exclaimed together. "We are what you use, you fear, anything or everything!"
"We help you!"
"We were bestowed onto you," the one with a pinch of red batted at Rav's head, "you lost your wings because of that!"
"Don't worry!" The sun mark pushed aside the red, its ribbon hands rubbing together, "it's due to come back soon!"
Relief washed over him, he sighed gratefully.
"Am I right?"
His heart stopped.
"Your wings are gone forever," Spiral came in front of him this time, practically jumping in joy. "Am I right?"
"We help you," Leaf stayed behind, but still asked, "...am I right?"
More questions! And two of them he really doesn't know!
The dome was getting dark again.
Leaf mark..
"We help you!" Remembrance.
"Leaf's question," he pointed to the one, unaware of how much he was sweating, "you are right."
Leaf's face twitched, changing to worry. That's its normal expression.
He was right.
Do I guess my way?
Rav didn't know if he was supposed to, so he turned to Spiral and Sun, going for Sun's answer.
"You killed them off," that memory repeated in his head.
"We got to get him back."
"There's only one way to wake you back up.."
That meant, he probably isn't going to get his wings back.
Or..
If he gets back, by the Aster-Fate, can he revive his wings?
But she doesn't have any type of abilities or.. powers, right?
Rav doesn't know the Aster-Fate.
He doesn't know.
"It'll-"
"No," giving himself only a breath in-between, he concluded, "you're wrong, Sun."
"Yes," he quickly went to Spiral, "you're right, Spiral."
The wings will come back.
His heart stopped.
The wings will come back.
He was wrong.
