What happens when a game stops being a game?

Lionel never imagined that playing a VR game would become the most dangerous decision of his life. On his third login, he was presented with a choice he couldn’t refuse:  

[Do you want to recreate your character?]

What started as a routine adventure spiraled into a waking nightmare. Trapped in the game world, Lionel found himself transformed into a vampire—not just any vampire, but a crippled, powerless blood slave, nothing more than prey in a brutal world designed for hunters. Survival seemed impossible.  

But Lionel wasn’t like the others. Somewhere between player and NPC, he became an anomaly—a glitch in the system. His existence defied the rules of the game, making him something entirely unique. When all hope seemed lost, Lionel awakened a hidden, game-breaking ability: SSS-ranked Blood Affinity—a power so rare it had only been seen twice in recorded history.  

Armed with the Crimson Bloodline, a legacy of forbidden and mysterious abilities, Lionel begins to rewrite his fate, discovering he can bend the very rules of the world around him. But his newfound power doesn’t come without cost. 

Now, Lionel is caught in a deadly balance between two worlds, hunted by players and NPCs alike. 

In this game-turned-reality, survival isn’t enough. He has to grow stronger and find his right place.

VRMMORPG: Rise Of The Blood Paragon

The duo walked from the room to the place where the elder master resided. It was a different building from the hall they had left, with "Skill Hub" written at the top.

"You can go in, my lord," she said. "I'll leave from here."

But Lionel stopped her. "Wait… I'm thinking of helping you out with this issue you reported to me. What do you think?"

She hesitated. "No, like…" her words trailed off. "I'd love it if you could do something about it, but please don't mention my name. I'll be punished."

"Sure, I won't mention you guys. I only noticed the changes and all," Lionel assured her. The maid nodded in gratitude before leaving.

Now alone, Lionel stood before the door. He pushed it open, and the large entrance widened before him.

It was unlocked and unguarded, which made him wonder why. For a place called the Skill Hub, shouldn't it be heavily guarded to keep intruders from stealing their treasures?
