3 The Illusion Kidnap.

"Well you couldn't awaken your lexicon after all." Shawn said. They had left the School's assembly hall and gone back to the library. They were there with Melwen. A girl Ethan had once tried protecting from some bullies but rather ended up getting beaten. From that day Melwen had never left Ethan's side. Melwen had soft yet striking eyes. She had bright eyes eyes that convey warmth and curiosity framed by long eye lashes. Her skin was radiant reflecting a healthy glow and her smile genuine and inviting. Her hair was long, straight and moved with natural grace. She also stood 5.5ft tall with an athletic body.

"Maybe you couldn't awaken your lexicon today but you might do so one of these days." Melwen said and hugged Ethan from the back. Melwen said that intentionally to encourage Ethan and it worked perfectly as Ethan got back to his normal self, smiling genuinely. "Can you show us your lexicon?" Shawn asked. 

"Of course,yes." Melwen said as she closed her eyes for a few seconds. Slowly a bright light shone around her as her lexicon also manifested. "Just as expected, I wanted a weapon oriented lexicon and I got it. But... I got something much more powerful added to it. A beast!" Melwen said but couldn't express her joy fully when she remembered that Ethan hadn't awakened his lexicon yet. Ethan realised that Melwen still couldn't celebrate her good work to help fullest and told her not to be so sad about him.

On Melwen's lexicon was a hand drawn bow and an arrow which wasn't full visible as a fire phoenix had covered it with it's wings as if a mother bird trying to protect the chick from an unknown danger. Melwen put her hand on the lexicon which was still levitating before her and instantly it opened. A bow and an arrow manifested engulfed in flames. Melwen took hold of it immediately and aimed at one of the book shelves. "Why don't we head to the Arcane range." Shawn suggested quickly to avoid any damage to the library. "Yes!" Melwen said with a wide smile on her face.

The Arcane Range was an enchanted training grounds where people went to hone their skill when it came to weapons that needed to be shot at long range. It had enchanted targets that could move on it's own in specific path. It could mimic some beast that made the training more realistic. The targets could even deceive the trainer's with illusions making the targets unpredictable and training the trainer's adaptability.

"Let's do this." Melwen said as she manifested her lexicon and drew out the bow and arrow. She aimed at one of the targets and shot the arrow. With great speed, the shot out arrow travelled as it was enveloped in flames from the fire phoenix. The arrow struck it's targets and destroyed it as it burst into flames from impact.

"Amazing!" Ethan said amazed at what he just saw. Before Melwen could speak back to Ethan some handwritten text started appearing in the first page of her lexicon. "Burning everything it touches till it turns ash: Phoenix shot." It said. "That's much more amazing." Ethan said after reading what was written in Melwen's lexicon. "Phoenix shot. That's the name of the attack you just used, although it's just a basic first page skill it is powerful." Shawn remarked standing behind Ethan and Melwen which shocked both of them as they didn't notice when Shawn moved from where he stood.

Right after saying this Shawn took his phone from his back pocket and and answered a call which he had recieved. A few seconds later, Shawn hung up the call. "I hope you can go back home by ourselves. I've got a very important thing to check up on back in the school." Shawn said and covered his head with the hood of his hoodie he had worn. "What's about this sudden change of events? Anyway let's head home."Melwen said and pulled Ethan out of the Arcane range. "Let's go home why are spaced out?" Melwen questioned Ethan who looked as if he was in a trance. "Sorry." Ethan apologised after he came back to his senses. 

"Yeah, let's go home." Ethan said as they walked towards Melwen's residence which was adjacent to Ethan's. As they walked towards Melwen's house Ethan started like something was off. And it was true. The once bustling road of life was now desolate. "Where are the townspeople? Because not even a single person have I spotted since we started taking this route." Ethan said whiles staying alert. "Maybe it was you who didn't see that group of children who were playing along the street. Don't worry everything thing is fine." Melwen reassured Ethan. "Ok." Ethan responded but was still on high alert. 

A few minutes later they got to Melwen's house. Melwen waved Ethan goodbye and Ethan also did same before turning to leave. He then left Melwen's house and started heading for his. Ethan walked by the main road which still looked like the one he saw as he walked Melwen home. At a crossroad Ethan turned and suddenly saw himself in a different place. "What's going on here?" Ethan questioned himself.

"Welcome to the humble abode of we the "Gluttonous Seven". "I'm Tiber Fenn, leader of the Gluttonous Seven." A man who sat in a throne wearing a black mask and an attire which made him look like a ninja said. Six other men who were also dressed like Tibre introduced themselves one by one. "I'm Nyxen Dark. I'm Corbin Draven. I'm Kael Blackstone. I'm Aldwyn Shade. I'm Rael Ember. And I'm Niall Skye." All the six men introduced themselves without been told to do so.

"Sorry but please can I ask a question? Why am I here?" Ethan asked. Immediately Tiber stood up and started approaching Ethan. "He wants to know why he was taken by our illusions." Tiber said and kept quiet for a brief moment. "Set up everything." Tiber said and immediately all the six others disappeared. A few seconds later they all appeared again saying;"We are done master Tiber." "Well, let me show you the reason why you were brought here. I'm going to extract your lexicon from your body." Tiber said showing no feeling or sympathy for Ethan.

"But I haven't awakened my lexicon yet." Ethan said whiles pleading with them to harm him. "Yh, that's what some of the other students said when we got but after the ritual they actually had one." Niall said and also went behind Ethan. "Let's start it." Tiber said and held Ethan by the neck sending him into a magic circle which had already been drawn. "I'll make this quick for you." Tiber said and called the other six men who took their spots around the magic circle. Immediately Tiber left Ethan to start the ritual Ethan tried escaping but it was impossible for him. The floor on which he stood had captured his legs as the floor looked like it was magically shaped to keep him in place.

"Earth bind" Tiber said with a lexicon manifested Infront of him. "I can control the earth to do my will." Tiber said proudly. "Mind break" Aldwyn also said and instantly Ethan felt like something had penetrated his mind which made him pass out. "So shall we begin?" Tiber said and got out of the magic circle and also entered his spot. They started chanting some words which seemed to be resonating with the magic circle as the inscription in the magic circle started glowing one by one.

"Uh... I'm sorry but can you stop what you're doing it's not going to benefit you." Someone stood behind Tiber saying. "Who are you?" Tiber asked whiles turning with a raised elbow to hit the person's face. "Woo... that was close." Shawn said after he had ducked and done a double back flip to evade the blow. "How did you even get here? Wait did you break the barriers?" Tiber asked in shock. "Sorry but it wasn't intentional. It broke the moment I touched it." Shawn said whiles scratching the back of his head. "You seem to have confidence in your skill for just being able to break such a thin barrier.

"Earth bind" Tiber said with his lexicon manifested which was at then the first page. "Huh! Uh... It seems you got me." Shawn said whiles still smiling. He had also been captured by the floor like the same way Ethan was also held to the floor. "Get him!" Tiber shouted commanding the other six men to attack. Immediately they dashed towards Shawn in attempt to finish him off. "Night terror." Nyxen said as he also approached Shawn. "Do you think you can scare with such kid horror." Shawn said and immediately Nyxen was left stunned as the terrifying images he had directly sent into Shawn's mind got changed into more scarier images and was sent back to his mind.

"I can't do this anymore! No more!, no more! I can't do this!" Nyxen shouted as he cowered. "How dare you harm one of our brothers?" Aldwyn also questioned dashed forward towards Ethan. "I'll make you regret what you did." Aldwyn said and threw a punch at Shawn's face. Shawn intentionally allowed himself to be punched. "Are fine now?" Shawn asked before punching back Aldwyn. The punch was so strong that it sent Aldwyn flying right after impact. "Do you know something? I actually wanted to do his without causing injuries but you guys have forced me into this." Shawn said and freed himself from the earth bind simply by raising his foot. 

"I knew you could do this but don't keep your hopes high. That was just a first page skill." Tiber said and smiled as his lexicon started flipping pages till it reached the thirty second page. After awakening one's lexicon, one had to train thoroughly with his lexicon and read more about the subject of which one's lexicon was based on. The more understanding you had about the subject on which your lexicon was based on, the more pages got unlocked and the more stronger a person could be. Pages could also be unlocked after gaining a skill or upgrading through understanding of your subject. During battles the higher the number of pages you are able to flip the more your power increases. 

Tiber's power got boosted that his accuracy when trying to control the earth was more efficient than at the time when he had flipped just a page. "Hmm. So do you think getting to the thirty second page makes you more powerful than I." Shawn said with an ominous grin on his face. "Wha...wha...what do you mean by that statement?" Tiber said in shock of Shawn's statement. 

"Let me show you what it means to be powerful." Shawn said with his grin widening more.
