Chapter 70: How Are Things Progressing

Sophia composed herself and continued explaining, "My eyebrow pencil just ran out, and I haven't had a chance to get a new one from home. I had just gone to Annie's place for barely two minutes when you both returned."

Perhaps it was a bit longer than two minutes.

Ivy listened, her eyes brimming with tiny question marks of confusion, not understanding why Sophia felt the need to tell her all this. But since Sophia was speaking, she listened without interruption.

Annie Lin interjected, "No one is interested in these details."

"Ivy clearly cares! She was so excited she jumped up! And I wasn't even talking to you!" Sophia retorted, putting some distance between herself and Annie, her gaze darting nervously as if concealing something.

Ivy scratched the back of her head, still utterly baffled. "Please, sisters, there's no need to argue over such a trivial matter, right?"
