Upon hearing the words "last night," Ivy jumped like a startled hedgehog. "What about last night? Nothing happened last night!"
"I haven't even said anything yet," Sophia shrugged. "I was just going to say that I missed you and Kate when you weren't here last night."
"Really? I don't believe you," Ivy cast a skeptical glance.
Sophia grinned. "Of course it's true. Would your dear Sophia ever lie to you?"
Ivy was no longer the naive girl who could be easily fooled. She was certain that Sophia was teasing her—what a mischief-maker.
Sophia continued, "Oh my, why are you blushing?" She repeated the words Kate had said earlier, a gleeful expression on her face.
Ivy turned to Kate to complain, "Kate, Sophia is bullying me!"
Sophia dared to joke with Ivy, but when it came to the celestial Kate, she felt a bit apprehensive.
She glared playfully at Ivy, saying, "No tattling to the grown-ups! That's unfair!"
