Chapter 129: Claiming Her Territory

Ivy slept exceptionally well that night.

As the curtains automatically parted in the morning, sunlight filtered through the white gauze, painting the sky like an oil masterpiece—blues and whites blended with a blush of pink, mirroring Ivy's own mood.

She had never noticed such details before, but being by Kate's side had even softened her temperament.

Turning over, Ivy found herself lying atop Kate. She had woken later than her—could she have worn her out?

She clicked her tongue twice, muttering softly, "Seems Mentor can't keep up; I'll have to take the lead."

"Oh, really?" The one who had been lying with eyes closed suddenly spoke.

"Y-you were pretending to sleep!" Ivy's courage fluctuated wildly.

As soon as Kate awoke, Ivy's earlier boldness evaporated.

Kate kept her eyes closed, her voice languid. "I was afraid you'd be reluctant to look away, so I let you watch a bit longer."
