"I'd like a piece of pineapple," Ivy said, opening her mouth expectantly, as if waiting for someone to feed her.
Kate casually picked up a fork from the table and brought a piece of pineapple to Ivy's lips.
After swallowing the pineapple, Ivy continued, "I also want a piece of mango." All the while, she kept her head resting on Kate's shoulder.
Kate obliged, feeding her once more.
Ivy calmly chewed the sweet mango and swallowed, as if being fed by Kate was the most natural thing in the world.
It was hard not to see it as a subtle display of affection.
David's mouth twitched slightly. Being born of the same mother, they shared a certain telepathic bond.
It was as if he received his sister's silent message: "This plate of fruit placed in front of you is actually for me to eat."
Ivy also seemed to receive David's unspoken question: "You'd better explain what's going on here!"
