Who are you looking for?

"Excuse me, sir, who are you looking for?" After taking just a few steps, Lin Yi was halted by the building's security guard.

"Just a moment, let me check." Lin Yi thought to himself, the formality of a big city is evident with security personnel present, but this guard seemed rather ineffectual—he was no match for Er Gouzi.

Er Gouzi was a companion of Lin Yi's, known for his strength; although he lacked martial arts skills, he could strike down a bull with a single punch. In Lin Yi's eyes, this guard was far inferior, lacking even the bull's might.

Lin Yi retrieved a piece of paper from his pocket, glanced at the writing, and said, "I'm looking for Chu Pengzhan."

"Chu Pengzhan? Who is that? Why does that name sound so familiar?" The guard was momentarily taken aback, mumbling the name to himself.

"The chairman!" Another, older security guard standing nearby reacted quickly, suddenly recalling who Chu Pengzhan was. He was visibly startled and tugged at the younger guard's sleeve, whispering, "Don't say anything foolish. If the captain hears, you might get fired!"

"Ah!" The younger guard's eyes widened in shock at the warning. Regret flooded over him for speaking out of turn; now he realized he didn't even recognize the chairman, which made him unfit for his role.

However, upon glancing at Lin Yi's attire, the guard's fear began to dissipate. No matter how he looked at it, Lin Yi seemed far removed from the chairman's world—a rural worker come to the city, completely unrelated to the CEO of a Fortune 500 company.

"Could he be a construction worker seeking to lodge a complaint?" The guard recalled a similar film he had seen recently, titled "Owe Me One Hundred Thousand and Five," where a laborer sought money from the chairman.

Sharing a knowing glance with the older guard, both men were evidently on the same wavelength.

"What do you want with Chairman Chu?" The older guard cleared his throat, scrutinizing Lin Yi with a serious demeanor, wary of any rash actions.

"It's not me looking for him; my old man sent me to find him," Lin Yi replied languidly. He held no concern for his employer's identity in reality; after all, he was merely being asked to do a job.

"Your old man?" Upon hearing this, both guards became even more suspicious, convinced that this young man was simply another laborer demanding money.

"Enough of this nonsense. Just tell me which floor Chairman Chu is on; I'll go find him!" Lin Yi was not interested in engaging in further banter with the two guards; he wanted to reach the main event as soon as possible.

"The chairman isn't here; you should leave…" The older guard scrutinized Lin Yi again, concluding that he likely had no connection to the chairman, and thus issued a dismissal.

Lin Yi was disinclined to waste time with the guards. He could see their judgments written all over their faces, which he easily interpreted; they were merely looking down on him for his appearance—how typical!

"Since he's not here, I'll just wait inside for him!" Lin Yi declared, striding confidently toward the building.

"Wait! You can't go in there!" The guards were taken aback by his audacity and hurried to intervene.

At that moment, the elevator doors on the first floor slid open, revealing a somewhat portly middle-aged man alongside a leaner, darker-skinned middle-aged man.

"Considering the time, it should be about right. Why hasn't Xiaoyi contacted me yet? Li Fu, why don't you drive to the station and pick him up? You've seen the photo already." The slightly portly middle-aged man instructed the leaner, darker-skinned one.

"Understood, Mr. Chen, I'll head there immediately," Li Fu replied respectfully.

Before Li Fu could leave, Chu Pengzhan heard a commotion at the company entrance. Frowning, he turned to Li Fu and said, "Could you go check what's happening?"

"What's going on?" Li Fu quickly made his way to the entrance, where he saw two security guards preventing a young man from entering the building.

"Uncle Fu, this man claims he wants to see the chairman and is trying to force his way inside…" The guards recognized Li Fu; although he held no official title in the company, he was the chairman's closest associate. If one were to label his position, it would be that of Chu Pengzhan's driver.

However, everyone in the company understood that Li Fu was far more than just a driver. Thus, the guards treated him with the respect due to a superior rather than merely as a chauffeur. Often, what Li Fu said was taken as the chairman's directive.

"You…" Li Fu stared at Lin Yi, his eyes widening in surprise. "You're Lin Yi?"

"That's me," Lin Yi confirmed, nodding. He had been observing Li Fu since his arrival, and instinctively sensed that this man wasn't Chu Pengzhan. A chairman of a large corporation naturally exudes an air of authority, which Li Fu lacked; though serious and respected, his demeanor didn't convey the gravitas expected of someone in such a high position.

"Hello!" Realizing the significance of this young man to Chu Pengzhan, Li Fu extended his hand with alacrity once he confirmed Lin Yi's identity. "I'm Li Fu, the chairman's secretary. He asked me to pick you up from the station, but I see you've already arrived!"

"It's all right; I was just getting familiar with the area," Lin Yi replied with a smile, shaking Li Fu's hand. Lin Yi was naturally respectful in return; Li Fu's courtesy made him feel a bit bashful.

"The chairman is just over there. Please follow me, and we can meet him together." Li Fu gestured for Lin Yi to proceed and led the way.

The two guards gaped in astonishment at Lin Yi's retreating figure, mouths agape in disbelief.

"Is he really a guest of the chairman?" the younger guard muttered incredulously.

"Li Fu wouldn't make a mistake in personally receiving him!" the older guard sighed. "We almost offended him! Thankfully, Uncle Fu came in time; if we had chased him away, we'd be in serious trouble!"

As Li Fu approached, Lin Yi noticed another middle-aged man nearby who appeared slightly portly. If he was correct, this was the individual he was meant to meet—the chairman of Pengzhan Group, Chu Pengzhan.

"Lin Yi, right?" As Lin Yi followed Li Fu, Chu Pengzhan strode over with a warm smile, extending his right hand in greeting.
