Chapter 147: Whitebeard's Decision

"Where did you get this? It's amazing!"

Ace held a pair of fingerless gloves, tracing the sun-shaped pattern with admiration. Sewn from unusual materials and reinforced with strange metal threads, the gloves were remarkably durable and fit snugly over his hands.

Most importantly, these gloves could absorb Ace's condensed flames, significantly increasing the temperature of the fire he produced with his Flame-Flame Fruit powers.

Yamato, standing beside him, swung her mace, grinning. An icy-blue gemstone was embedded in its handle.

"Yes! I can feel the chill from this—it's never been this powerful before!" Yamato exclaimed.

"I promised the creator I wouldn't mention their name," Shin replied nonchalantly. "Just enjoy it, so does it really matter where it came from?"

Shin pulled a pair of large bracers from a sealing scroll strapped to his back as he spoke. "And here's something for Pops Whitebeard."

"Oh!" Whitebeard, mid-drink, glanced at the bracers in surprise. "A gift for me? What's special about these?"

"Try them on, and you'll see," Shin replied with a smile, handing them over.

Curious, Whitebeard donned the bracers, tested a few punches, and then his hand began to glow with a familiar white light.

"Huh? These can store my quake-based power!" Whitebeard muttered in astonishment.

The vibration energy accumulated within the bracers, and with a sweeping motion, Whitebeard sent colossal waves crashing across the sea. Although the stored shock power was less than his full strength, it was still impressive.

The bracers also absorbed most of the recoil from his attacks, sparing his body the usual toll. This meant he could unleash continuous strikes, greatly enhancing his combat ability by around ten percent.

"Well done, Shin. It must have taken quite a bit of effort to get weapons like these," Whitebeard remarked, laughing as he admired his new gear.

"Yeah... it was a bit of work," Shin replied with a modest smile.

In truth, creating these items hadn't been too challenging. With the crafting knowledge of the Sage of Six Paths, combined with his own Munch-Munch Fruit abilities and computational help, making these tools was straightforward. The main difficulty had been adapting the props to work universally outside the chakra system, a task that had taken the Sage a few days.

However, such treasures were unheard of by the residents of this world, and Shin wasn't about to explain them.

"Oh, what a shame! If we'd had these during our last fight, the Beast Pirates wouldn't have escaped so easily!" Ace mused, looking at his blazing white flames with newfound satisfaction.

Shin's eyes lit up. "If Kaido came to us before, why don't we go looking for him now?"

"Right! Let's defeat Kaido and liberate Wano Country!" Yamato cheered, swinging her mace with enthusiasm.

"Don't be foolish! That's Kaido!" Whitebeard shouted, landing a solid fist on Yamato's head, leaving a noticeable lump.

"With the three of you combined, you still wouldn't be a match for him! Not to mention the entire Beast Pirates."

"Yeah... Kaido is really powerful," Yamato admitted from her spot on the deck, looking despondent.

Despite his reprimand, Whitebeard seemed thoughtful. He had always refrained from confronting Kaido, even though he had close ties with Kozuki Oden. In the past, the Whitebeard Pirates were evenly matched with the Beasts Pirates, and Whitebeard's injuries had made a direct confrontation risky. But now, healed and stronger, and with Shin and Yamato on his side, Whitebeard knew they had an advantage.

Yet, he was reluctant to put his children at risk. Age had softened him, and he prioritized their safety above all else.

Noticing Whitebeard's hesitation, Shin refrained from pressing the matter further. However, later that night, he visited Whitebeard privately.

"Shin, no matter what you say, I won't approve of you going after Kaido," Whitebeard said firmly. "Wano Country is Kaido's stronghold. It's far too dangerous for you three to go there."

Whitebeard's tone was softer than it had been with Ace and Yamato. Among the trio, Shin was undoubtedly the most level-headed, and Whitebeard wanted to understand his confidence in challenging Kaido.

Shin smiled slightly, his eyes transforming into the Rinnegan. A black space appeared before him.

"Pops Whitebeard, this is my newly awakened ability—I call it 'Kamui.'"

The following morning, Whitebeard surprised everyone by agreeing to Shin's proposal to head to Wano. He instructed Ace and Yamato to follow Shin's lead, leaving them astounded by his unexpected support.

Shin was always the most dependable of the three. Although Ace had the broader vision, it was usually Shin who figured out the practical steps. Trusting him, Ace and Yamato didn't question the decision further.

"Ace, here's a new ship I made specifically for you," said Deuce, the former vice-captain of the Spade Pirates, who now worked in the Whitebeard Pirates' logistics. He pointed proudly to a sleek ship, not much bigger than a speedboat. "It's faster than most ships, built from a high-grade alloy provided by Shin. Its strength rivals that of the Treasure Tree Adam."

"The only drawback is its small size, which makes it susceptible to rough seas. But it shouldn't be a problem for someone with your abilities."
