Final Test: Death Sentence!

"First rule, your targets are points; the points are your result score... The person with the highest points wins and will be automatically accepted into the Tamer Academy... Second rule: Your points can be taken by your opponent. Note... There's only one winner, and that winner is the one with the highest points... You can lose your points if your opponent kills you; all your points will transfer to them... Same with Beasts. If a Beast kills you, all your points will transfer to the Beast, and it'll get stronger... The higher the points it absorbs, the stronger it gets... Third rule: You're all allowed to use your tamed Beasts, work together, and gain more points—"

"—Miss Monica," a guy raised his hand.

"Yes?" Monica turned her head towards him.

"What happens if we get killed?"

"Good question, and it leads us to the fourth rule, which is: If you get killed, you'll appear back in this stadium... And if you can survive for five hours in there, you win... For some of you, five hours is equal to five minutes outside."

The youngsters all nodded in understanding.

Seeing them nod, Monica smiled and moved to the side:

"You can now go in."

Mitchell walked first, entering the portal, followed by Mariana and the youngsters.

"Good luck," Christopher smiled at Advika.

"Thanks; you should also be careful," she said and walked inside.

"Master Christopher," Monica called out.

Christopher stretched out his hand towards the lions. They turned into trails of red light and flew towards him, entering his ring.

"Ready," he smiled at Monica and walked forward, entering the portal.

"Good luck!" Monica said as the portal disappeared, and a huge screen appeared above her, showing the 30 youngsters on it.

Whooosh!!

Christopher walked out of the portal with a smile.

He first looked around and turned to the portal, which instantly closed.

"So we're all scattered; that way, those guys won't start attacking one another."

[Welcome to the training ground, Christopher.]

"Huh?"

Christopher was stunned to see the blue screen in front of him.

"What are you?" he asked.

[I'm the guide of this training ground... Anyone who enters will be able to access me... I show you your kills and points... And you can buy some things that can only be used in the training ground from me... For example: food, clothes, health potions, Beast boosters, skill boosters, and more... Please note: You can only use them in the training ground.]

"Hmm... Okay then, show me my profile."

[Uploading profile....]

[Error...]

[Profile hasn't been linked to the Tamer Academy's system.]

"Hmm... What about my kills and points?"

[Bringing up.]

[Name: Christopher.]

[Training title earned: N/A.]

[Kills: 0.]

[Points: 100 (starting points).]

Christopher nodded and turned his head to the right... Thanks to his high level, he detected something.

GRRRRRRAAAAAAA!!!!!

[WARNING!!]

[Threat's name: Shadow Wolf.]

[Threat's level: Lv5.]

[Threat's stage: Perfect-stage.]

[Points: 1,000.]

Christopher stared at the 5-meter-tall wolf before him and sighed.

'Such a powerful Beast as the start... It seems I'm being watched... I'll have to hide some of my strength.'

Christopher rubbed his finger, and five flaming lions appeared in front of him.

"Come on, guys... Let's show this Beast who's king of the jungle... All of you, use [Lion's Roar]!"

The lions all took a step forward and roared in unison.

GAAARRRRRR!!!!!

BAM!!!

The wolf was disoriented.

"Good! Now use [Fire Penetration Blast]!!"

The five lions simultaneously opened their mouths and released an unholy amount of fire blast, which accurately collided with the wolf... Burning it to ash.

"That's how to kill a Beast," Christopher smiled.

[+1,000 points gained!]

[Total points: 1,100 (100: starting points).]

Christopher smiled and took his beasts back into his ring.

"Next!" he started walking.

[In the stadium.]

"Wow, the Legendary-level Tamer really knows how to take care of Beasts!"

"Yeah, only two attacks, and it was killed! That was impressive!!"

"Can't wait to see what he's capable of next!"

"Me too!!"

The audience murmured, staring at Christopher on the screen.

_

"That's elder brother, amazing!" Katherine said with a smile.

"Look at the audience, and he hasn't revealed his secret weapon yet," Adonis said with a light chuckle.

"Brother already won this test," Katherine said, relaxing in her seat.

"Yeah, but we shouldn't underestimate the others, especially Mitchell... He already has 2,000 points," Adonis said, staring at Mitchell on the screen.

"Yeah, you're right," Katherine nodded.

_

Monica stared at the five youngsters standing behind her, frowning slightly.

"You guys didn't even last a minute. What about your Beasts?"

With her question, they all turned to their Beasts, who were still trembling in fear.

"Miss Monica, that Beast is just too powerful for us. Five of us even teamed up, but we still couldn't get past its defense... No one can defeat it," one said.

"No one can defeat it?" Monica frowned.

"A Beast who was initially an Elite-stage is now a Legendary-stage! Just because of you—"

Her words were cut off as five more youngsters appeared behind the five.

"This?" She was stunned.

"There's a Legendary-stage Beast in there!! It killed all of us with a single attack!! Miss Monica, is it the academy's plan for us to fail?!"

Monica sighed and replied:

"The academy will never make you fail intentionally. As I said, the more points the Beast absorbs, the stronger it gets... You guys encountered it after it had absorbed these five's points."

The youngsters all nodded in understanding and turned their gazes to the screen.

"There's no way someone can kill something that has hundreds of heads," someone said.

[On the training ground.]

"[Lion's Roar]!"

BOOM!!

[+500 points gained.]

[Total points: 1,600.]

"[Lion's Claws]!"

BAM!!!

[+300 points gained.]

[Total points: 1,900.]

Christopher marched forward, killing any Beast he came into contact with. For two whole hours, he continued hunting and killing.

"This is frustrating!! I can't gain any points above 1,000... If I need to win, I need to have at least 50,000 more."

He grumbled.

"Hey, you, how many of those guys are left?"

[Active: 10.]

"Huh? 20 have been eliminated in these two hours?"

He stood up. "But what's eliminating these guys?" he asked no one in particular.

BOOOOM!!!!

GRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!

Christopher turned his head to his left, a frown appearing on his face.

'Battle. Wherever there's battle, there are points... Maybe I can steal from the person or people...? No, I'll have to eliminate him/her; there are eyes on me,' he thought, increasing his speed.

BOOM!!!!

Christopher was stunned to see two boys and a girl fighting a worm-like creature whose body was deep in the ground, with more than a hundred heads without eyes but with huge mouths above the surface....

...The creature's neck was 10 meters long, and Christopher didn't want to imagine how huge its complete body would be.

Christopher looked at his surroundings and realized this was the eerie-looking land, with blackened earth, dead and old trees.

He looked at the bush he was hiding in, which was the boundary to the forbidden land. Christopher sighed, not moving an inch.

"Come on, scan this monster."

[Scanning...]

[WARNING!!]

[Threat's name: The Hundred-Headed Forbidden Worm.]

[Threat's level: Lv7.]

[Threat's stage: Legendary-stage.]

[Points: 25,000.]

Seeing the strength and amount of points, Christopher was stunned speechless.

'A Legendary-stage Beast? And even with a combat strength of Lv7! Hmm... If I kill this creature with Lazarus or Lucas, I'll gain 25,000 points; that's great!!' he thought.

_

"We can't win this; I say we fall back!!" the girl yelled at the two boys.

"Fall back? Not happening... I don't care how long it takes, but we must kill this creature!"

"But its skin is impenetrable!!" the second guy said.

The leader of the group stared at their Elite-stage Beasts in front of them and sighed softly.

"I know this is dangerous, but we can't lose...!!"

The two stared at each other and shook their heads.

The monster before them is beyond their level. No matter what they do or use, it will be useless.

With one last look, the two ran away with their Beasts.

"Hey!! Where are you going?!!!!"

The leader was flabbergasted, staring at the running figures in confusion.

BAM!!!

All the heads entered the ground and moved with incredible speed towards the running group.

BAM!!!!

The heads burst out of the ground, catching the two runners and their four Beasts in each mouth.

Christopher and the leader watched as the worm tore them to pieces, swallowing their bodies.

"This?!"

They were both stunned.

The heads moved their gazes all over the place and entered the ground, disappearing from view.

"Wait," the leader said quietly, making sure not to move a muscle... He then turned to his Beast.

"Whatever this thing is, it doesn't have eyes, so it uses its ears and ground vibrations... For example, your footsteps," he said to his Beast.

"That makes sense. That's also why it left you and attacked those two because they were running... What a terrifying Beast," Christopher muttered quietly.
