KENAN WAS SO SCARED and powerless in the face of what had happened that he didn't know what to do. He took slow steps back on that huge stage, thinking about what would happen from then on. He felt dizzy, with no sense of the space around him or the height of the ground, he saw everything spinning around him, almost losing his balance completely as he slowly tried to escape. His brain seemed to throb inside his skull and the noise echoed in his mind, figures walked around him, as if in a macabre dance of spirits, but he knew they were unreal, hallucinogens produced by the sound he heard.
