THE GROUP WENT DOWN AGAIN to the entrance hall of the Library. The doors were open and there was no one left in the place, only the corpse of the woman who had previously gone mad. There was not the slightest trace of police or medical work, such was the chaos that reigned there. The ambulances that were serving the event, perhaps after attending to the last wounded, had already left.
— We'd better stay here, guarding President Kenan, while the boy looks for the car — said Floyd Kenagan.
— You can call me Tommy. — Tommy put his pistol in his clothes.
— That doesn't matter," replied Floyd. "Just go and get the car.
— Don't give me orders as if you were my superior, I'm not a soldier or whatever you think.
— We'll stay with your wife while she's there.
Tommy looked him straight in the face and said:
— Is this a threat? Is she going to be a hostage here? — Floyd Kenagan frowned, his eyebrows furrowed and his teeth clenched, glaring at him angrily.
— She will be protected by us while you serve your country's government at this inopportune time, Tommy — Kenan interrupted. — I will guard her with my life if necessary, you have my word.
Tommy stepped away from Floyd Kenagan and looked at Katherine, saying:
— Are you going to be okay?
— Yes — the girl replied.
One of the agents, while observing the situation outside from the door, turned and said:
— The presidential limousine is near the stage stairs, look for it.
He responded by shaking his head as he walked through the door.
Tommy did not disagree with leaving for this mission. The President needed security and he only had three agents to protect him; however, he only had one goal that echoed in his mind:
To free Katherine from danger...
— I'll be back soon, Katy," he said before leaving.
