"Oh, come on, Mr. Khalid, you don't have to be shy now. I mean, you're a star," David said with a smile.
For some reason, he found himself enjoying this far more than he probably should. But then again, why should he care about this guy?
"Please, introduce yourself," David added as he gestured toward the podium, inviting the young man forward.
However, instead of approaching the podium when the policemen finally let him go, Khalid abruptly kicked it aside and lunged at David.
David, calm and prepared, simply took a step to the side, effortlessly dodging the attack. His guards were on Khalid in an instant, restraining him once more.
"You know," David began, his voice steady but laced with disdain,
"At first, I thought about just ending this quietly by having the police arrest you. But then I realized—why should you remain anonymous while your victims are out here in the open, suffering?"
