Even though both Michelle and Nyxaroth could usually see in the dark because they possessed the dark element, neither of them could see into the space behind the wall made of void obsidian. And both of them had a guess as to why that could have happened.

Michelle thought it happened because the space behind the wall was completely black, so they weren't actually seeing darkness but just a black wall. On the other hand, Nyxaroth thought that either a dark element Spirit Master or a Shadow Master had altered the space behind the wall with a special skill, so even those who could normally see in the dark were rendered blind.
